Gavin House is NOT the larger hotel. It's the old one down the road. Stay at the larger Holiday Inn. Got to gavin hall just to be greeted by a sign telling me to check in at the hotel up the road. Lugged all my stuff back into the truck to check in there then drive back here. The room is a decent size but I don't know why there are thermostats on the walls when none of them work. The ceiling fan makes an awful clicking noise. Luckily after hitting the reset button on the outlet, I was able to get the wall unit AC to work. It's clean and welcoming, just kind of a pain in all the other ways listed.
They don't tell you that you have to check in at a different building! After a very long day of travel, that bites.
Awesome place to stay!
Like every other IHG hotel stay I have enjoyed, this was another perfect stay. Friendly staff, clean room, good breakfast, and occasional dinners too. Gavin House, Abrams Hall in Columbus,GA in particular is always convinient if you are visiting a family member who is in training in the base.
We liked the convenience of the location. The fact that they offer the quick continental breakfast and the buffet across the street. Also, the convenience of the laundry and children's play area were great.
