Walgreens Pharmacy

First, our doctor’s office called Walgreen’s (University/Pineview) and asked if a specific wound wash were in stock; the answer was affirmative. So off we go to this store and you guessed it, no such product, it had to be ordered. We would be called the next afternoon upon arrival. Not unsurprisingly, there was no call. (We are treating a Stage Three pressure ulcer here, not an insignificant wound, suffered by an 89-year-old man.) So the store is called and yes, the product has, thankfully, arrived - just as all surrounding interstates are shut down due to multiple accidents and we cannot access Walgreens. The next day, today, we attempt to prepay for the product so our caregiver can retrieve it for us as she is traveling past Walgreens toward us. We are told Walgreens cannot accommodate us, that we must retrieve and pay ourselves. This product is not a prescription, it is OOTC. Walgreens is a disorganized and unhelpful retail establishment and I recommend avoiding it as it will surely create more crises than it rectifies. UPDATE 9/28/19: A day later: Walgreens gave us the incorrect pricing over the phone for the product, citing a $31 plus cost. Caregiver did not have the cash to purchase en route to us so we had to make the 20-mile round trip to retrieve, only to discover upon buying that the product was incorrectly priced by the pharmacist over the phone to us. It was $13.00. Would have saved a lot of aggravation and a trip, as we had to have someone sit with our loved one. At Walgreens, the pharma checker we would be so pleased at the surprise discount! Disgust is all I feel for this CVS-tag-along chain, and I will do all I can to avoid and to tell the many others I encounter.

Good location and helpful staff.. good place to buy gloves when game days get colder than you expected!
