We have a mixed group men, woman, and youths that have been going there for about eight years and have a great time every year
We have been looking for an Axis deer hunt for a while. Knowing this time of year they are still growing so booked a Hog hunt for my Wife and I to see if we wanted to book an Axis or Oryx this summer. Booking with Daniel was easy. We had a bit of change of plans so tried to change dates this took several calls. No packet was sent so had to call for directions. Not an issue Google maps gets you to the gate. We arrived and Daniel went over the rules. Hunter orange for your safety required. Except the guides. Seemed odd but not my rules. Food was OK but no desert but we could stand to do without. We saw two Axis deer buck and doe. Buck was young and nontypical. 5 Simitar Oryx. Wife went to the truck and returned saying there are two Buffalo in the front yard so we had to scare them off. We saw two angora sheep they are cool and big. Then here come the Audad and must have seen 60 in total.nMost of the hogs were seen after dark bring a spotlight! Wife got 3, two at once both headshots so good job! I shot a nice boar under the green light that exist on all stands. We tagged out!nnThe not so good but not bad. I have booked hunts in Arkansas, three elk in ,New Mexico 1 in Colorado, Deer in Alabama, Texas, and Louisiana. In all hunts the owners and guides ate with us and we knew each other and departed friends. This did not happen here.. The foreman had little to do with us, and that extended to the staff guides. They ate first and alone, not taking time to chat with the hunters. During the safety briefing one guide was sleeping. The longest conversation was with the Foreman when we settled up for extras. $75 cleaning fee per pig, $20 for boning (Your not allowed to hold a knife) if hogs were over 100lbs its .75 cents per lb. That was OK for me didn't want to do that anyway. But be aware of extra charges.nnWife and I got quality time, and had a good time, so overall experience was good and fun. If you like to be pampered this hunt is not for you. If your focus is to spend time with family eat well and see many different animals book here.
My family has hunting the 4 Amigos Ranch three times now and each of them have been AMAZING!!! My daughter’s first deer and her first pig were killed there. My wife’s first deer was a very large doe killed there but they treated her hunt as if it were a large 10 pointer. They were kind and patient with our family and we will definitely be going back!!!!!!
Our group of 3 had a wonderful time at 4Amigos. Daniel was very helpful in lining up the trip, working out details and answering all the questions we had. When we got there, Jerod was our guide most of the time. Each of us got our two hogs that we wanted. I decided to look for Rams last minute and Jerod was happy to help me. These are good people working hard to ensure that their guests have a good time. Meals and accommodations were also excellent. I will definitely be going back and bring more of my family and friends!
The experience me and my buddy had was memorable! The two guides Jerod and Clinton went above and beyond to make sure we got our animals we wanted . I would highly recommend this hunting trip to everybody you will not be disappointed. And the lodge cook Ana Bell made sure we were feed well and the food was great!
