If you want to get treated like royalty come visit the Houstonian! When we pulled up they immediately opened my door. A bell man came and packed our luggage on a cart, and the valet guy parked our car. As we entered, they greeted us and held the doors open too. They even gave us an early check in and late check out with no questions asked! They also gave us all a bottle of water as we entered. If you are worried about COVID they have it covered, they use gloves when they handle everything and wear masks. The room was updated very nicely and the beds were super comfy. I had no trouble sleeping. After a great time at the pool, we came into a room with turned down bedding, chocolates on the bed, and a note with an update about the weather. They filled up the ice bucket for us as well. My son felt like a prince the next morning when we ordered him room service. This is a very classy traditional place. There are a lot of beautiful features like a huge lighted live oak tree, and cozy fire place in the lobby. I loved the way they propped and set up the pillows perfectly on all the coaches too. When it came to dinner, they called and set up a dinner reservation and gave great recommendations for our family. The fitness center and spa is a must do while you are there. My son and I really enjoyed the indoor track and a variety of great equipment. I also want to mention the fresh beautiful flowers you will see indoors and outdoors which adds to the beauty. My boys kept telling me they felt like they were in a tree house with all the greenery that surrounds the hotel. I discovered on their special offers that they offer a 15% discount and discounted parking for teachers and medical professionals. When I asked about the discount they said that when you book online you must set it up, but they went ahead and gave me a 10% discount and the discount on the parking. I have already planned a Mother’s Day trip! It was an excellent experience.

We decided to get away for the weekend and chose The Houstonian for its heated pools (with a slide for the kids) and gym (with kids club). We stayed in connecting rooms (king connected to 2 queens) that were renovated. The rooms were wonderful: comfortable beds and pillows (we requested featherless), plugs and access to lights on both sides of the beds, the ability to turn on the fan with the A/C- off, low, high (very important for us to help with white noise for the kids), mini fridge, Keurig, beautiful bathrooms, TV with the ability to cast from our phone, pack n play set up with sheets and a blanket already in our room as requested, soft robes for the adults and the kids, baby bag with baby wash, lotion, and a little duck, a well-appointed desk, wall to wall/ floor to ceiling windows overlooking greenery, button to alert maid when we wanted cleaning or not. We also enjoyed the hotel staff- check in was easy, concierge was helpful with finding dinner plans and signed us up for a free tour of where they do their baking with cookie decorating. We are at the hotel restaurant once for breakfast and once for dinner. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The maid also did a fantastic job. The pools, gym and associated kids club at the gym lived up to their expectation as well. We travel frequently and would definitely return! We could absolutely find cheaper rooms elsewhere but wanted a premium room with premium service and amenities and were happy with our decision. My only disappointment is that we weren't able to take advantage of the late checkout they graciously offered!

Best place for a family vacation. We try and go every year. Perfect balance of activities for kids and adults.
