La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham I-20 Longview South

Hotel was gorgeous. The room was great and staff was very kind. Although they had no clue about the conditions of the pool room and had no extra pillows or shampoo and conditioner. We asked before we went if they were doing breakfast and they said yes, but they only had a few things set out. We asked if the pool was in service they said yes, BUT the lights were all blown out, the pool was VERY cold to the point you couldn’t swim in it and when you ask why they will just tell you that the pool room doesn’t have temperature regulation it just goes with what’s around it and the worst part was the hot tub. The hot tub was FULL of algae to the point if a health inspector seen it they would go out of business, it was disgusting. Our room was always filled with towels and beds were made , housekeeping was very respectful and did a great job.

This was probably one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had in a very long time (and we travel a lot). Were currently moving from FL to CO with 2 dogs, a toddler, and 2 cars (our circus, if you will). We arrived and were tired and frazzled but we were greeted with the nicest and warmest welcome (I wish I would have gotten his name!). Then this morning, Lupe was downstairs at the desk. Let me tell you, she is the kindest person! She helped me with an issue that I had with my old dog in the lobby (because my toddler was running away from me) and then she made sure we had breakfast and apple juice for the little one. She was kind and understanding and she made me feel like I wasn’t losing control of my circus (but, let’s be honest, I was). Lupe, your kindness meant more to us than you will ever know - thank you.nNow to the stuff people want to see on reviews...nThe parking lot is well lit, the lobby and rooms are clean and don’t smell like pets, the staff is extremely nice, and it was actually pretty quiet - I think the walls were pretty thick (we’re at a different la Quinta right now and it’s LOUD - the walls are paper thin). To add to that, the linens were clean and the towels didn’t feel like sandpaper. The pet areas were well kept although it would have been nice if there was a pet station with bags and a trash can but that’s small potatoes compared to how great our experience was.

This hotel was very much under construction in early June 2020. The beds are comfy and the freeway noise is not bad here. Everything however just seemed a bit off or non-existent with the construction/renovation. Examples : I've machines, no vending machines. No working main floor restrooms. Little store has no cold beverages. The rooms are comfy! Just beware of the remodeling.

Staff were very friendly here but the room was not very clean, we ran out of hot water and the tv did not work. Like I said the staff were friendly and helpful and it wasn’t their fault and tried to make it right but I wouldn’t stay here again.

This La Quinta was one of the best ones we have stayed at. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were nice. We highly recommend this hotel. We WILL be back!!!!
