We arrived and were delighted that our expectations were exceeded. It is a quaint and cute lodge and we got a room on the second floor which has an amazing ceiling. The porch is wonderful and the kitchen looks nice. The fireplace is wonderful!nnI purchased flowers for my wife and requested a live plant rather than flowers that would die and was delighted by what they selected from the area.nnWe will definitely come again!nnEdit: So we have stayed here two nights and the place is delightful... except for the dead cushions on the chairs, mattress, and pillows. Prepare for bedding and chair cushions that have long had their life spent and are in dire need of replacement. Pretty sure we will need to visit the chiropractor when we get home.

Staff was very friendly, wonderful lodge rooms. The prices were really reasonable for a weekend price around this part of North Carolina. The room was pretty clean, had no sign of cons that I saw. Worth checking out if you’re adventuring around eastern NC and northeastern GA.

Great location and clean! We stayed in cottage #1. We loved that the cottage was dog friendly (there were also several doggy waste stations and grassy areas to walk the dog). 50 dollars non refundable fee for the dog. The bed and the living room couch really need updating. Thenkitchen and bathroom were nice. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch. Two star hotel? No, Mitchell's Lodge rates high in my book. My girlfriend and I stayed 2 nights in late February and had an awesome stay (at the Chestnut Cottage). Minutes from downtown, and from various spectacular trails and waterfalls, but peaceful and rather secluded as well. Our cottage was clean and well stocked, and we LOVED the propane fireplace! We enjoyed the combination of cozy rustic charm, and modern convenience.nRobin and Jason at the front desk could not have been more sociable (within Covid guidelines), professional, friendly, and helpful; we received information on some great 'off the beaten path' trails and sites, and great recommendations, as well as delicious cookies and coffee in the lobby.nThank you for giving us a memorable weekend, highly recommended and hope we will return!

Wonderful rooms which were clean and cozy, nice atmosphere in comparison to a regular hotel. The staff were nice and always willing to help. The premises had artistic touches such as a ‘secret spot’ and a pretty pond with ducks. We were also allowed to plug in our EV!!
