First when we arrived after 3pm our room wasn't ready. Had to wait over an hour to check In. Then get to the room the bathroom toilet or bathtub wasn't clean. I travel with cleaning supplies so I cleaned it up myself. The front desk clerk was nice though.
Staff here are incredibly nice! Clean rooms and comfy bed. We enjoyed our stay passing through. We will definitely save this place on our road trip map for future trips.
The room I stayed in was nicely laid out and everything looked clean. I really liked the kitchenette with a small dishwasher and the built-in two burner stove but truly disliked the severely damaged pot it came with. I actually find it quite surprising that they expect anyone to cook with such an unsafe pot, it was useless and should be thrown out as the flakes of Teflon are peeling all around the inside bottom and it has a big burnt chunk right in the middle. It did not seem safe to cook with so it was a big inconvenience because the reason I booked a hotel with a kitchen was so I could cook a meal for my family.nThe front desk agent gave us a $10 discount and one free frozen dinner with a bag of cookies because they were out of pots but it was still disappointing and not enough. The lamps inside the bedroom were missing light bulbs.nI would recommend anyone who wants to stay in this location with the intention of cooking a meal, to bring your own skillets and pots or call ahead before booking to make sure they have working non-toxic cooking pots available.
I have stayed at this property on numerous occasions and usually have no problems. That was not the case on this stay.nnAfter driving 3.5 hours from Houston to get away from the winter storm I arrived and checked in yesterday. When I checked in the cooling system was on in the room so I switched it to heat and set it at 73 degrees. An hour later the room was still at 64 degrees so I called the front desk and the guy assured me the heat was working and that it would kick on.nnAnother hour goes by and still it was 64 degrees. I called the front desk again and he said that he would have maintenance guy come up. 30 min later he still had not come so I called again and this time a young lady told me there was not maintenance man on site and that they would have to call him to come in. (So I’ve been waiting for someone who isn’t on site and doesn’t even know I’m waiting).nnAbout 45 min later the maintenance man finally arrives and says there’s something wrong with the thermostat and switched the unit to operate directly from the actual unit rather than the wall thermostat.nnAfter that I left to go and bring my parents some food and upon returning I find that the security latch inside my room is engaged. I called down to the front desk to inform them that the door was opening but was being stopped by the security latch. The lady said she was going to get the tool and come to open it. 20 min later she still had not come (mind you it’s 12:30am at this point) so I called again. She came up stairs and was extremely apologetic. She attempted to open the door but wasn’t able to. She called her “AGM” and put me in another room for the night. She said that the maintenance man was on site and that they were unable to locate him but once they did he would open the room.nnThis morning I woke up at 9:30. I decided to call the front desk since no one had contacted me however the phone in room wasn’t operable. I called from my cell phone and asked for the manager. He came onto the phone telling me he had just gotten in and I would need to check on what was going on. He then asked me if I wanted him to “pull the chief engineer from what he’s doing to tend to this,” as though the fact that I couldn’t access my room or belongings wasn’t a priority.nnAfter a brief hold he came back onto the phone and told me the engineer was going to open the room and would knock on my door when it was done. No apology. No acknowledgement of the inconvenience. No offer of concession. When I pointed out to him his lack of regard he then told me he was going to take the pet fee off of my reservation and “of course there won’t be a charge for last night and I’m going to add 10,000 bonus points to your account.”nnI told him that I didn’t have a pet with me. I have a documented service dog. He says “well since it seems like we keep swinging and missing maybe it’s best that we find you other accommodations at another hotel.” Again, acting as though my expectation of consideration from management was unreasonable.nnThis is my first time interacting with David, however if today was an accurate representation of his idea of costumer service, there is much to be desired. I am a lifetime gold elite with Marriott. I could’ve looked past the issues with the room. It’s this manager’s condescension that I find reprehensible.nnI was scheduled to stay another night however elected to check out rather than to allow myself to continue to be dismissed.nnDr. SinegalnnEXTREMELY disappointed!
Alarm woke us up at 6 am despite us not setting an alarm. We asked for extra towels but were not given any. No conditioner in the bathroom. Staff was very nice and respectful at least.
