Comfort Suites Harvey - New Orleans West

My stay was fine (even with a poorly cleaned bathroom) until we were robbed by housekeeping. We placed the DO NOT disturbed sign on our door while we went to eat but when we returned it was on the floor on the inside. They went through my kids things and stole $300 dollars from their bag. Money they worked hard to save. Never staying there again and will take it further.

This was the worst hotel I have ever dealt with. Upon booking I requested adjoining rooms because my family was with me. Upon our arrival our room had been given away to someone who wanted to stay over. I asked for another adjoins room & was told it would be about 30 to 45 minutes for them to get rooms ready for us. I went into the lobby every 30 minutes to check to see if it was ready after 2 hours Clara from the front desk says yes it’s ready. We got our keys and headed up to our room only to find that the housekeeping staff was just starting to clean the rooms. Another hour of sitting in the hallway waiting on our room to be ready. Once we were in the room the tv didn’t work we called for the maintenance man 3 times to come fix it & he finally showed up the next morning. The hotel staff was clueless and continually lied to appease the situations!! The elevator went out. I was told by hotel staff there would be breakfast only to find there was no breakfast. I mean why lie? Seriously I could have made other arrangements( no big deal right). I was told that I could fill out a grievance form at check out only to be told by jazmine at the front desk the she didn’t know what that was but that she would write it all down.nnWhen I called to speak to the general manager John to ask for a refund he told me not issue a refund because I called choice hotels first and not him because it cost him $100 in fines and that I should have called him first ( I did he just didn’t call me back) he was very rude and inconsiderate of the situation. He stated that I came into the situation with the intentions of getting a free room.nnOver all this was the worst experience of our many years of staying in choice hotels. & the only good thing I have to say is that I know our bedsheets were clean because I watched the change them.nnDon’t stay here. Very unprofessional hotel staff!!

The facility is well maintained. However, there is a problem when it comes to obtaining clean towels. If you miss housekeeping in the morning, you can not get any clean towels until housekeeping comes back on the next day.

Okay trip but there’s always room for improvement. Let’s start with the pros. Everyone that I encountered at the front desk was extremely sweet and personable, the layout of the room and the accommodations were great and the area was extremely quiet. My main issue is cleaning or lack there of. I’m not sure how COVID-19 impacted how often housekeeping comes into the room but it was disappointing to see how things were missed or glanced over. For starters, there was an old chicken wing left in the microwave that had obviously been sitting there for a while. There was also a black rim along the inside of the toilet seat that made it clear that someone hadn’t really clean the toilet bowl like they should. When it comes to the day to day cleaning, Housekeeping wasn’t around. The trash wasn’t emptied from the room nor were the towels exchanged. Again I don’t know how much of that plays into restrictions from COVID but I would think within the 4 days I stayed there, housekeeping would have at least knocked on the door to see if there was anything I needed (trash emptied/swap out of towels).
