This is my second 5-star rating for Anderson bicycle. Brought in my Specialized Hybrid for a tune-up. Gears were not shifting correctly and there was a loud squeak coming from, well, somewhere. I also explained another riding issue--regardless of the seat or how far back I placed it, I kept slipping forward. I had tried at least 5 different seats to no success. What could I do? Looking over the bike, Paul came to a diagnosis of the problem: the bike was a Medium frame, but I probably should have been fitted for a Large (note: I did not buy my bike from Anderson, but I wish I had). Thinking I was about to get pitched to buy another bike, I braced myself. But that wasn't what happened. While the frame was a fixed size, Paul explained, there were these things that extended your handlebars forward, which essentially extended the frame. It also would reset your position on the bike, or more accurately, position you correctly for your size and the size of the adjusted bike, effectively customizing the bike specifically for you. Given my riding experience, I estimated an extension of around 1.5 inches would likely be very close. I left the bike to complete the tune up and extension. As promised, a week later it was done. He noted I should ride it a bit and if the extension needed to be changed out, he'd take care of it (no fee). I did my first test ride today. His diagnosis was spot on. It was like being on a totally different bike, a new ride. Instead of feeling scrunched and slipping and my hands falling asleep, I felt correctly positioned and very little slipping off the seat and no numbness in my hands. I felt my pedal stroke was smoother and more powerful, or at least I was getting more power out of it. The gears were shifting smoother as well, so good for fixing that, and no squeak. I'll take it out for a few more runs, but I don't expect the ride to change much. Great job again by Anderson Bikes!
Paul was amazing! I was in a real emergency. My son’s bike needed an emergency repair the day before he was scheduled to take a biking trip with family. I found out when I called a few stores closer to me that all bike shops are backlogged with repairs for weeks. Paul, who was also equally backed up, after hearing my plight, had me come in and squeezed in my repair outside of his scheduled hours. Honestly he saved my son’s trip and I couldn’t be more appreciative. I will be in the market for a bike soon and will be back to his business to make my purchase. Though, he told me I’d have to wait a few months since the market is so hot for bikes right now they can’t get any inventory. Well that’s ok, to be able to buy from his business it will be worth the wait!
Thank you to the owners for being so great during my bike purchase! They immediately asked me what type of riding I do and showed me the bikes that fit what I was looking for. I never felt rushed or that they were trying to upsell me. The prices were much lower than I expected. Perfect bike purchase experience! Happy to support a locally owned business - not some mass market chain.
WOW....AMAZINGLY PROFESSIONAL ud83eudd47ud83eudd47nAnderson Bikes is an outstandingly well stocked and knowledgeable bike shop.nnTheir selection of bikes and biking accessories is top draw.nnThey do not carry the lesser quality merchandise that you fine in mass market and chain stores. The biking shoes, lights, bags, brakes and bikes are all top notch. Their concentration is on stellar quality.nnThey have serviced four bikes of mine and every time my experience has been outstanding. Paul and Karen the proprietors are by a leap and a bound head and shoulders above an bike shop on the east coast.nnMy overwhelming suggestion is ANDERSON BICYCLES if you are seeking advise and guidance as regards sport biking. I strongly doubt there is a bike design that Paul is not fully knowledgeable about.nnFor a the purchase and/or a tune up or for major bike maintenance ANDERSON BICYCLE is the first, last and only bike shop to visit.nn27 stars and counting. ⭐ufe0f ⭐ufe0f ud83dudeb2ud83dudc95
