I've used the chestnut house several times when on the island for work. Walking distance to Main St. & yet still quiet and peaceful. Room was great separate sitting area and bedroom. Staff was overly friendly in a good way. Would not hesitate to stay there again in the future.

Excellent location right in the middle of the city. Decent room and decor. . Could use an update. The bathrooms in the rooms don't have adequate space for anyone near 6ft tall. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

Our room was spacious and quiet. The location is in the heart of downtown area. You are surrounded by dozens of restaurants, shops, etc. It’s a five minute walk to the ferry. Pricing was very reasonable. Highly recommended!

Wonderful place to stay. Very close to ferry, shops, restaurants & Whaling Museum but on a quiet side street. We had a 2 room suite with comfortable sleeper sofa & separate bedrm. Very clean. Owner very friendly.nDon't serve breakfast but gave coupons for 6 cafes nearby. Both we ate at were very nice.nWould definitely stay there again.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at The Chestnut House. It was extremely clean and in a great location, in a cute side street right in town, an easy walk to everywhere in town. We stayed in Suite 1, which had a living room (with pull out sofa) and bedroom, as well as a mini fridge, and it was so comfortable and homey for the four of us. We arrived before check in time, and were able to store our luggage easily and use a bathroom (including shower) for guests in transition. The handmade hooked rugs that were throughout the suite were so unique and beautiful. The young man who assisted us whenever we had a question or needed anything was really accommodating and helpful, despite the many times that I bothered him. The Chestnut House completed our four “C’s” for choosing a place to stay: convenient, clean, comfortable and a caring staff! We really can’t wait to stay there again.
