I absolutely loved my stay at Pineapple Park. Initially, I was reluctant to book a stay here due to all the (less than positive) reviews, but I'm glad I did. I found a home at Pineapple Park and the people I met there made my time on Big Island so very special. I'd stayed at another hostel with far better reviews, but Pineapple Park exceeds them on all fronts. Great facilities, super homey and absolutely spotless. Lots of hot water and the view from the lanai is so beautiful. Special shout out to Gigi, who is an incredible hostess and whose love permeates the PP walls with such vibrancy. I can't wait to be back.

Great place to stay if you want to do the hike to captain cook monument and the kealakekua bay snorkel. The hostel is very spacious, clean and well-priced. This is also a good base for exploring everywhere else if you don’t want to pay the outrageous prices of Kona hotels. I rented a private room with a private bath for a reasonable price. They also have shared rooms. Keep in mind there is no partying or noise past 10pm. All in all, I recommend this place!

Very nice and affordable place to stay in Captain Cook. I would definitely recommend it.

Horrible! I go there to rent a private room for 2 days, and the lady starts asking me all kine questions about if I have Drivers license , and other personal questions that have nothing to with staying there, so I left, and paid twice as much at the sheraton,, but it was worth it!!!!

Excellent. Stayed with large group, was treated with utmost respect and care from managers. I would certainly recommend it to anyone, especially if you are comfortable leaving the luxuries of resort properties and having a more unique experience in Hawai'i. Hikes and coffee plantations nearby make this a great spot to stay.
