Wild Ginger Inn Hotel & Hostel

Really really rustic place.  They put me in a dorm with the volunteers of the hostel. So the room was extremely messy. No bath towel, no blanket (you have to pay an extra for it). Because this was the dorm of the volunteers, they didn't clean it....I am so disappointed about the place.  There is a kitchen, but bring your glass or cup, there is no.n... Also, it's impossible to book online, you have to send your credit card number by email.

Wild Ginger Inn is my favorite place to stay in Hilo. This is the third or fourth year with about a dozens stays. This is NOT a conventional hotel, though they have hotel-like options and amenities.nnThere is a Hostel here as well.nnBoth are better. The view is scenic and the courtyard is expansive and impressive with the number of fruiting trees and indigenous Hawaiian plants.

Love the food here. Decent pricing compared to many other restaurants in the area.

The Wild Ginger Inn is my favorite place to stay in Hilo whether traveling around Big Island or around the world. Just minutes walking distance to the World- famous Hilo Bayfront, the Ocean, Health Food Store, Bus Station, and Market.
