Royal Kona Resort

We didn't stay at the resort, but stopped in for cocktails and appetizers. The service was excellent, but the view is amazing! We sat next to the seawall and enjoyed the sunset. The drinks were reasonable priced, and the coconut prawns were light and served with a marmalade horseradish sauce - delicious! This was at Don's Beachcomber Grill inside Royal Kona Resort.

The hotel is beautiful and sits on a perfect oceanfront location. The main restaurant is temporarily closed due to Covid, but the bar area is open with a limited menu. The pool is great, but small. Our room was overlooking the ocean and was in a quiet location which we liked. My suggestion would be to add a microwave. A mirror in the bedroom area would be nice too since the bathroom is small and tough for two people to share at one time. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

Royal Kona is related to Diamond time shares.nnMy experience was a good one.. the internal bar/restaurant has a down time between 10am and 11am..ni went down around 10:15am and found there was no more breakfast... and lunch starts at 11..noh well there are other close places near by like lava java.nnpool is nice the bar staff is great.. so is the gift shop staff..nnRooms are nice. The building is older but well taken care of.nSeating area is great as well.nni would recommend the ocean view rooms.

Great location! Right on the ocean and walking distance to shops. The staff we're great to work with and made everything easy. They say the rooms have been remodeled but it looks like fresh paint and new carpet was all that was done. Also, worst bed I ever slept on. The mattress was rock hard but somehow we could still feel the springs. We ended up buying air mattresses to sleep on.

I came here 1/31/21-2/4/21. The staff is so friendly and amazing. The cleaning staff does great work. The view is amazing from my “partial ocean view” room, it’s more than enough ocean for me to sit on the balcony. I genuinely enjoyed my entire stay! (And the price is unbeatable for the value!) Would happily stay again.nnAlso, the restaurant downstairs is amazing. Sitting next to the ocean eating breakfast cannot get any better. The drinks are great, too.
