Hilo Hawaiian Hotel

We got a great deal here. The staff are very friendly and we had an awesome view of Coconut Island. The outside looks older but the rooms are fine. Make sure to get a room with a balcony ocean view.

It's an old building, but the room is well kept clean. Especially, I liked the design of the main lobby, felt so open and welcoming.nnIt's the end of a peninsula and surrounded by a huge park. You can easily pop out and enjoy the morning stroke. Also, coconuts island is just behind the hotel.nnOur room had a good size lanai, and we were able to view the ocean. Didn't like the fact that they do not offer breakfast and don't have a safe in the room, but for the location, price range, and cleanness of the room, I would stay here again.

This is definitely a hotel, not a resort. The rooms that have ocean views you can clearly see that water. They have two restaurants, one of which does takeout(not room service).nThis hotel is in the heart of Hilo, and is a short walk away from most things. A pretty good hotel with fair prices.

Comfy bed, clean enough, gorgeous view, friendly staff.nnNo coffee or hot water (just the coffee maker in your room) or breakfast in the lobby.nAlso, the sliding doors can be heard slamming all around you. And if someone is smoking somewhere, it will fill your room.nAnd the gym and pool don’t open until 9. I wish they would open earlier so I could exercise before I start the day.

Value for the buck. Well maintained, spacious rooms. We got the ocean/bay facing room and the views were nice from the balcony. Parking was included in the price which was nice.
