Miriam and Dave are wonderful hosts!!! Not only were the accommodations wonderful, but they spent a great deal of time with us making suggestions about what to see and where to go while on the island. They also shared some of their deliciously fresh macadamia nuts with us and showed us how to crack them. Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for inviting and caring hosts that embody the Aloha spirit!

I absolutely love the Hale Maluhia country inn. The owners and their family are some of the most kind, loving, welcoming, and gracious people I have ever met.

A part of the reason we booked this place was all the rave reviews about the owners. They weren’t there to check us in despite multiple text messages asking us about our arrival time. According to the friend, they were give a break for weekend time, which is understandable. Our room on the second floor and there was no one to help us with our bags as the person who checked us in had just developed a hernia. The room was stuffy (not prepared for arriving guests with cool air) and had low ceilings and angular walls that felt closed in. Next the reviews raved about breakfast. On our arrival we were told it was $35 per person if we were interested. And lastly the parking situation is also not ideal. The entire experience felt cramped and not a relaxing way to end our trip after other fantastic places we stayed at comparable rates.

This is THE place to stay for an amazing, warm, and welcoming Hawaiian vacation. The hosts are incredible and the place itself is everything we could have hoped for and more. It is absolutely a little slice of perfect Hawaiian paradise. No detail is overlooked from the comfortable bed and furniture to the homemade and delectable breakfast that came with a different fresh baked bread every single morning and the local fruits charmingly arranged to look like palm trees.nnThank you for the great stay and we will hopefully be back!

We truly enjoyed our time at Hale Maluhia. It is the perfect B & B to experience a typical Hawaiian home. Built in the 70’s, it has the charm of that era yet possesses the modern luxuries we expected. Dave and Miriam continue to work at refurbishing their quaint home but that does not take away from their wonderful hospitality. The food was delicious and their personal care superb. Their children give a wonderful addition to the warm atmosphere, when they are around. The birds, crickets, gecko, frogs and chicken add sounds and feeling of being at home and welcomed. We definitely recommend this home to anyone wanting a taste of Hawaii.
