My stay at the big island hostel was lovely. Dutch was a great host and gave me a an awesome tour. He invited me to a beach get together and I had a great time. It’s a really cute, clean space. I felt very comfortable. They have complimentary coffee. It’s close to a bunch of restaurants and the farmers market. Definitely check out the banyan trees. Mahalo for the beautiful memories and warm welcome to the island!!

My new favourite hostel on Hilo side. The host, Dutch, is easy to get along with and keeps the place spotless. Great location adjacent to Wailoa River, convenient to Banyan Tree Drive and endless parks. Walking distance to the middle of Hilo. The women’s dorm had comfy beds and a bonus reading nook for curling up with a book. New fixtures in the bathrooms and plenty of supplies. Highest recommendation!

The pictures do not represent the hostile I recall...a broke down old limo was staged out front...and the guy who ran the place, 'Jared' though friendly was possibly a bit to friendly with the traveling single females and pretty unkept...but all in all friendly and a good priced, cool place. I once saw this as a beautiful building with a rainbow on the side...maybe a dream of mine, cause again, no rainbow when I went to stay and kinda run down. Hope it turned around and is rainbow clean and sun shiney for travelers now.

Didn't stay at the hostel, but ate breakfast at the restaurant downstairs... wow! Maple Spam donuts... delicious! AND the lady made one into a breakfast sandwich, sausage egg and cheese... oh my that was good. Also, salmon omelet was divine. Eat there, support local business!

This is the nicest hostel I've stayed at! Nicely decorated, good quality furnishings, great lighting, overall a relaxing ambiance. Never had to wait for the bathroom or shower, shampoo/conditioner/soap provided. Staff knowledgeable, helpful, and accessible. Will definitely stay again if in Hilo.
