We just needed a clean place to stay overnight on our way from Dallas to Denver. The Chek Inn met all our expectations and then some! It has that mom-and-pop feel. I assume we interacted with the “mom” half of that dynamic at the front desk and she was nothing but helpful and willing to make sure our stay, though brief, was excellent. The bed was comfortable and the linens definitely freshly laundered, they smelled so good.nnThe water pressure in the shower was out of this world. If you’re worried about getting clean: don’t! The shower head practically blasts you clean independent of any soap and shampoo.nnThere was no coffee pot in the room, though we asked the front desk and were helpfully supplied with one and the usual assortment of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and creamer and sugar. Otherwise there is coffee in the front office along with donuts, cookies, and fresh fruit.nnThe Chek Inn will definitely be a place we stay again should the need arise. It’s a great place for the price, and as long as you’re not expecting the Four Seasons, it will be perfectly fine.

this is definitely the best deal for motels in the Lamar area, respectful staff, and clean rooms. excellent for the price, there's even a continental breakfast.

Awarding 3 stars because of the unavoidable realities of dealing with an old motel property like this, but if the review were solely based on the owner's efforts, I'd award 4 or 5. I do not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone for whom cost is the primary factor; the beds are fine, the TV is good, the AC is very good and the bath towels are above average. But the property has little visual appeal, many of the fixtures are showing their age (i.e. discolored bathtub), and you're not going to get the snappy cleanliness you would expect from a quality chain like the Holiday Inn Express down the road. As one would expect, amenities are minimal. But it was clear during our stay that the owners are doing everything they can to make your stay pleasant, which counts for a lot.

Beds appeared to have been already slept in, A/C doesn't cool room, bathroom floor has pieces of toilet paper stuck to a dried substance on the floor, easiest to clean-the switch for light has excessive finger prints. Oh and trash on floor between bed and night stand. Were the couple that checked us in polite and friendly YES. Definitely needs more attention to first appearances. I don't know how anyone has rated this with more stars, either they have very low standards, or friends of owners. VERY DISAPPOINTED, afraid to walk on floor bare foot, socked for that matter. Definitely would not recommend this place.

My wife and I was looking for a place to stay for the night, so with my wife being as picky as she is, we looked into about 4 different hotels/motels. We found this place and it is by far more than we expected.nThe rooms are super clean and are set up for convenience and relaxation. The staff are friendly and quick to accommodate the customers needs. It is very affordable as well.nWe will definitely be coming back as well as recommending this motel to family and friends.
