The Homestead at Catskill Animal Sanctuary

What an amazing visit! First time and to our surprise, Kathy was our tour guide. Best part was when the baby goats came running across the field to greet us! Oh and giving an adorable piggie a belly rub ♡♡ Wonderful caretakers. Be sure to stop by the hut for some really nice items to purchase or to make a donation. Cannot wait to return.

The Homestead is a beautiful old home that is obviously well cared for and simply quaint. It was a bit smaller than I thought (from the photos via the site) but it was beautiful! Just a quick walk down to the Animal Sanctuary, where, as members, we could visit throughout the day and evening we passed there. The Tour of the Sanctuary was also wonderful! It was a lot of fun to get to know the beautiful animals residing there.nThe Homestead decor and hospitality were perfect! My daughter and I had a wonderful vegan breakfast and the best home made granola I've ever had! Home made vegan snacks were also provided and the comfort of the cozy room where we stayed was lovely!! Luckily only one other couple was there during our stay so sharing the upstairs bath wasn't a problem. It was also very cold when we were there but the old house maintained a good warmth and we had no idea it went down to 7 degrees that night!nThank you for a wonderful stay! We'll be sure to be back!

Absolutely loved our stay. The homestead is beautiful, house goals! Michelle was so warm and welcoming. Our group really felt right at home, our dog loved it too. Excellent vegan breakfast in the morning. And so fun to check out all the animals. They were wonderful to visit with. Short distance to the cute downtown of Saugertis. Will definitely return soon!

Such a wonderful place. A beautifully appointed, clean, quiet little getaway. There is something about sitting down for breakfast at a table with likeminded strangers that helps soothe the soul. The vegan breakfast was absolutely delicious and prepared with love. You can truly tell how much Michelle loves taking care of her guests. This place is so special. We stayed in the Rambo Room, and loved reading about Rambo and his journey to the Sanctuary. I would 100% recommend The Homestead, if you are looking for a fun, different, and adventurous getaway, as the Homestead and the Sanctuary work together to give their guests a very unique experience.

I've stayed at the Homestead numerous times and each time is uniquely special! This visit I stayed in the Paulie room with my dog. Michelle greeted us with dog biscuits and homemade human treats. Breakfast was an outstanding combination of blueberry pancakes, spinach fritatta and homemade granola/coconut cream/fruit parfaits. I volunteered at the Sanctuary during my stay, which is always a fulfilling experience. I'll be booking my next stay soon!
