Renaissance Albany Hotel

I would definitely come here again! I arrived very late at night and the staff were super helpful. They even extended the checkout time for us. The room was beautiful, new, and clean. The bathroom was spacious and very clean. I would recommend this hotel more than any other hotel in the area.

At first view it is a fancy shmancy place. It has a friendly staff. However the pretentious house restaurant makes a decent attempt at creative culinary attempts. Though would I stay here for $200+ a night...Hell no. They meet the basic requirements for a 4 star hotel. I believe the rates should reflect that. I guess for Albany's taste, this is best that can be offered.

Was OVERCHARGED HERE stayed one Saturday night and left and was charged $185 that night looked again next morning and it CHANGED to $202!! called and was told the “demand” was high on Saturday’s , don’t really understand this because online it says $136 all included and over the phone I was told it would be $119 before tax or anything for the night (I’m calling again later to get my money back I just wish this review could end nicely but it doesn’t seem like it so far).

I've given it a low score because of the reception staff.nWe arrived in the afternoon and no-one was on reception, we waited a couple of minutes until they came out, and then everything was a little rushed. We asked if we could have dinner at the restaurant to which she laughed and said it was booked, and also on our second night. We saw a charge on the credit card that was $100 more than the price we booked at, we assumed it was an extra charge incase we used the mini bar or whatever, but this was not mentioned at check in. Next morning we went down to breakfast to find that the restaurant currently weren't opening for breakfast, this was not on their website or on the booking website.nnThe room was great, and the view of the capitol building amazing.

Beautiful rooms, super spacious. amazing front desk associates! Very friendly and knowledgeable about things to do around town locally.
