Beautiful hiking area in the middle of town forest and a large plot of conservation land with easy access to well maintained hiking trails in both Massachusetts and crossing the boarder into New Hampshire. It has a natural cranberry bog, sand pits, lots of boulders and ledge and other great examples of the area's unique geographic features! Right next to pristine natural water resources, and home to several protected/rare/endangered species of plants and animals; like spotted salamanders, lady slipper orchids, box and wood turtles, hog nose snakes, worm snakes, grey rat snakes, and the occasional serenading whip-poor-whill. Not sure about the lodging part? Maybe they will allow camping soon!? Definitely worth a visit to this lovely patch of northern woods!
