Edelweiss Lodge

I booked a room at this lodge using Booking.com and I ended up needing to cancel so I called the Lodge directly, first. I spoke to the manager and he said he understood and wouldn’t charge me but that he couldn’t access the reservation because I did it through a third party and that I should contact the third party. So I then submitted a cancellation request formally through Booking.com and it said they would notify management of the cancellation. After the reservation date passed, I got a notification that I had a “no show”, which made no sense since I cancelled in both locations. Nonetheless, I called Booking.com, explained the situation, they said that lodge management hadn’t acknowledged their message but that they’d try to call themselves. The nice gentleman said he called the lodge, gave my information and explained the situation and that the lodge manager never recalled talking to me and said there was nothing he could do. So he apologized and said I should try calling myself. So I called the lodge back and had another conversation with the manager who said he didn’t understand what I wanted (even though I got charged for a no show). I reminded him of our chat we had where he said he wouldn’t charge me and I also offered to send the cancellation email I submitted to his lodge through Booking.com and asked if I could get the no show charge refunded. After much grief, he said he would. It’s been a week and he still hasn’t fixed my account. When I call back during the day to inquire, the nice lady at the front desk says she cannot do anything until management gets in later in the evening. It’s been a runaround and I won’t be booking through Booking.com or at this Edelweiss Lodge again.

Nice, but bring your own everything. Due to this Virus its alot of do & don't. They have breakfast 8 to10am, check out 11am. They have mini coffee pot and fridge. Bring milk/sugar water. Ice machine in office. Bring Airmist humidifier gets really Super dry summer or winter. ! I'd say great for the price ud83dudc4d ud83dude09

Good location except the building and room was just not enjoyable. At all. If you aren’t in the main the building you aren’t getting a good room; the lights were flickering, it looks shabby, there were cobwebs in corners, and the heater was set to extremely hot when we arrived. This is the type of hotel you expect a horror movie to be filmed at. There was also no one at the front desk to check us in for fifteen minutes and the door got stuck.

Our room was on the second floor of a building that had not been maintained for many years. Pealing paint, rotting wood, siding falling off. We had to climb an exterior wood stair that was not safe. Inside was no better. It hadn't been cleaned for a long time. I showed photos to the woman at the office and she gave us another room. She was very nice, very apologetic. We were moved to another building with interior stairs, better but still, not clean. There were 2 rooms in a finished attic, very bad workmanship. There was no breakfast. the place was locked up and lights out. I have traveled a lot over my 60+ years. This is the worst accommodations I have ever had the displeasure to stay at. The star is for the nice woman that works there.

My daughter and I stayed one night and it was very nice. We stayed in one of the cottages. Very clean, bed very comfotable, shower was amazing and relaxing. Pool was nice. Great location as we could walk around town and get back to the cottage quickly. We will definetly be back ❤❤❤
