Tru By Hilton Salt Lake City Midvale

Upon our arrival, we waited ten minutes to check in at the front desk. Almost all the people that were in the guest lobby were not face masking, I return to our vehicle to get our luggage, a man that was staying at this establishment was smoking weed and dancing around the outdoors seating area. I have kids, they don't need to see that kind of activities. Room was nice and clean. Went we returned from our trip we definitely stayed at an other location in lehi.

I have been staying in southern Utah county for work and have stayed at this Tru location several times while visiting my girlfriend, family, and friends in the Salt Lake area. I have had two negative issues over the span all of my stays. First issue was that I noticed a charge on my card and called to inquire the nature of this charge. Alexis answered the call and as I am speaking to her she very rudely began to speak over me and abruptly cutting me off while I am attempting to explain to her the situation. She then tells me the charge will come off of my card and hangs up on me. I promptly called back and was told by Alexis that I have been put on a blacklist and am unable to stay at this hotel anymore. I am flabbergasted at this information and very upset. I have done absolutely nothing to warrant being put on a blacklist. The only thing I can think of is when I extended a stay by a day through Priceline. I called the front desk and let them know immediately after paying for the room on Priceline. After checking her computer the girl working the desk assured me that the room was extended and I could come down anytime to get new keys and whatnot. I took a shower and got ready and wasn't exactly hurrying to come down to the desk to handle business as I was told I could come down "at anytime." All of the sudden I have, none other than, Alexis calling my room telling me I have 5 minutes to come down and handle this or additional measures would be taken to remove me from the room. Of course I immediately went to the front desk and encountered a very rude reception from Alexis. I made a comment to her that I was told I could come down "at anytime" and that there was no need to be rude. Alexis at once changed her attitude and I thought the incident was over and put behind us. I mean everyone has a bad day, right? Apparently not. This seems to have landed me on a blacklist for "harassing hotel staff." I would very much like to speak to the manager regarding this. I will adjust my review and rating accordingly, after management reaches out.

Nice and clean with friendly staff. Wish rooms were a little bigger. Too tight for a family of four to move around comfortably. Microwave and coffee available in the room would be an added bonus. Beds were comfortable and it was quiet.

The staff went above and beyond. They wrote us a beautiful note for our anniversary. So sweet and thoughtful oh and we got goodies too.

We stayed at the Midvale Tru Hotel on July 10, 2020. It was the height of the Covid-19 pandemic and the hotel was easy to access and observe social distancing. The rooms, lobby, pool and hallways were clean and sanitized and following regulations for this crazy time. The employees were friendly and helpful. The to go breakfast was good and easy to get. thank you for a great experience.
