I’m happy to write this review I like to give credit we’re credit is due.nI travel 100%. Of the time and I had the pleasure lodging at this hotel.nThe front desk staff is amazing. !!!nI haven’t met everyone but fortunate to run into Desiree, Chelsey, Jennifer.nThey went out of there way and I’m grateful to them !nAlso would like to thank the hard working cleaning crew for my Comfortability.nAnyone would be impressed with how the rooms are kept.
Once again this is an example of absentee management gone bad. There are some very good and hardworking people at this facility. Unfortunately, there are also a few people here who just seem to be marking time or collecting a check. Today for example when I checked out I was not even offered a copy of my bill either in hard copy or emailed to me. Yesterday when I tried to make a reservation and spoke to someone at the hotel itself they were so uncaring and disrespectful I was shocked to the point where I asked if they even wanted the reservation. The person who I spoke to seemed at best non-committal. When I asked if any managers were available I was flatly told no. This particular person actually told me to call back Monday for a reservation that I wanted to make on Sunday. Likewise this individual was unwilling to honor the price that was shown on Marriott's own website. I will really think long and hard before using another Marriott property. Or at least a Delta Property based upon my experience.
Pretty interior, clean and COVID safe. Comfortable mattress but terrible pillows. Were out of bottled water. Close to restaurants and shopping. Very good place to stay if visiting Huntington or Charleston, WV. The Mexican restaurant about a mile away was AWESOME!
My house has been completely flooded so we had to stay here. I have five family members so I had to book a suite. I went down to pay for another night, when Jennifer (who was so new that she didn’t even have a name tag and operating the front desk with no other employee present) told me a different $30 cheaper price. She then preceded to text her manager in front of me and the manger said to change the price to the rate from the previous nights. After losing everything I own, $30 is worth fighting for. She then told me that she wasn’t suppose to disclose the information that she told me and tried to back track. She then, after knowing she wasn’t suppose to disclose the information, turned her computer around and showed me the cheaper rate on her computer. After that, Jennifer became extremely rude and unprofessional. When responding to her rudeness, she then told me that she didn’t like my attitude, that she was going home and that another front desk employee could deal with me. I plan to speak to the general manager tomorrow about Jennifer’s lack of training, being unprofessional, and extreme rudeness.nnUPDATE: I spoke to the general manager. She was very helpful and found a solution to the problem.
Upon arrival, we were very impressed. However, our first impression was fleeting. There were disappointments at every turn. From dirty bed linens on the couch upon entry to the room, rude and careless staff members, no clean towels in the room, unavailability of advertised room service/dining options. We persevered, ordered delivery pizza and looked forward to a room service breakfast (as promised by the front desk staff, and advertising). But, oh no, that was not to be— as front desk stated the restaurant was not open yet again (due to no restaurant staff showing up for work.) To top off our less than stellar stay, my morning shower was rudely interrupted by housekeeping pounding on our door to “see if we had checked-out yet.” This wasn’t a business trip. This was supposed to be a spontaneous, relaxing girls trip with my mother and my daughter. The trip experience did not live up to the advertised experience and amenities. Compared to recent stays in competing hotel chains, we were beyond disappointed Delta Hotel by Marriott.
