Stopped by because it was close to where I was and they had what I needed. The work done was fine, but labor was $15 for a tube install/replacement, which would’ve only taken me 5 minutes had I known I would’ve been charged.nnMost importantly, I was charged $40 for a tiny part that I literally thought was free. No indication was given that I would be charged for it. I looked online and similar parts run around $10. I felt okay with paying it because I needed the part at the time - but their NO RETURN OR EXCHANGE POLICY means I will likely never purchase parts or equipment here again.
I searched online for a tri bike because I have a race coming up. I do my research before I buy a bike so I know I am getting a good deal as as buyer. Most of their bikes are overpriced by 50-200%. A p2 Ultegra selling for $1800 on their site is valued at $500 today. I understand they fit you and get free maintenance for the first 90 days or something like that, but that can only be worth so much. I encourage everyone to do their own research so you are not getting screwed out of money that could go towards other accessories for your bike.
I ordered a bike online from this dealer through the bikeexchange.com platform. The suggested retail price from the manufacture for this particular bike (a Frog kids mountain bike) was $940. I paid a premium (around $200 over the manufacture suggested retail) as I realized it was the holiday season and supply is exceptionally low. I paid an additional $150 for shipping. When we received the bike there was damage to the hydraulic brakes. A local bike shop had to completely reassemble the bike and repair the brakes to make it rideable. The additional cost for these repairs was $160 I contacted Playtri 3 times. Two times by phone and 1 time via email. The first representative did not even know that they carried the brand and assured me that I would receive a call from the sales manager. I never received a response. On a second call I was accused of sabotaging the brakes myself. No one responded to my email. I have purchased many bikes over the years and have never had such a poor response from a retailer or dealt with a one with so little knowledge of their own product or lack of concern for customer service. Frog and Bike Exchange are choosing a very poor organization to represent their services and their products. I will express my discontent with Frog, Playtri, and Bike Exchange as often and as widely as I can.
Sold me a used bike with screws so tight that they need to be drilled out, and tires that busted on the first ride. Associates in the store were aloof, and the repair representative was completely unwilling to help me resolve the situation. Unfortunately, I am now going to have to spend even more money having another shop fix the mistakes this one made.
I had a really good experience here. I purchased a bike not knowing much about bikes. The sales lady told me she would normally recommend a larger bike for my size but their inventory was low and said the size they had in stock might work for me if I adjust the seat. I decided to purchase it because they said I had 30 days to exchange it. I am very grateful for her honesty! After riding my bike a few times I noticed pain in my knees and decided to see if they had the larger bike. They did, so I exchanged it with no hassle. I would have never guessed the pain from my knees was because of the size of my bike but thanks to sales person, I figured it out. Now I've had my bike for a couple of months and love it. It fits perfect!
