It's okay. If you're in for a short visit and don't want to spend alot of money - This is maybe the best option. Cheap, convenient, good location. But if you're looking for anything more than that - This place won't cut it. It's not that great frankly. There's better options even within Lowell. Having said that - This is the only three-star hotel you can walk through the Lowell downtown from. It's saving grace. If you're here by choice - or are stuck here - Take heart. Plenty of nice bars and restaurants - and even a bunch of museums and so forth - just a stone's throw away. You can make it fun.

The night check-in person was not friendly. I chose this hotel for location, and because of reviews, but our room was not lovely. The carpet and furniture were not clean, the TV remote hardly worked. Breakfast is bagels and granola bars. If you know MA you know it's pitch dark with winding roads, and after a long drive a little friendliness and clean carpet were what I was hoping for. I did sleep well and the shower was decent, so 3 from me.

It could do with updating - the bar area and breakfast area are a little depressing. The rooms are OK and they seemed clean enough

Really poor customer service. Arrived in the evening for a next day conference. Shortly after arrival had to evacuate the building for an alarm. Found out the hotel is half UMASS DORM while standing outside in the cold rain talking to the dorm students. Spent 40 minutes waiting for the fire department to searched the building. The dorm students confirmed this as a regular occurrence. Paramedics and Police returned again, shortly after, and stormed up and down stairs. Electricity went out, twice. Then at 10:30 there was another 15 minute alarm instructing everyone to either evacuate or listen for further instructions - very comforting. The TV remote did not work. The clock alarm went off at 5 am (which we did not set). All in all the least comfortable night I have ever spent in a hotel. Discussed with the Desk Manager, no acknowledgement - no offer to reduce the room fee or even at the very least comp a breakfast - nothing to make up for the really inconvenient and unrestful stay. My advice - find a hotel that is not trying to also accommodate college students.
