Suburban Extended Stay Hotel North - Ashley Phosphate

Wow what can I say about this place. I travel a lot and this place has become my home and the employees are my family. Great hospitality.nLove my family at suburban extended stay

I am a type 1 diabetic. As hard as as a try, type 1s have lows. Their vending machines didnt work and literally had staff laugh and mock me when I was almost at the point of passing out with a blood glucose of 35. Their machines didnt work, they didnt give me change... its a type 1s worst nightmare.

This was our go to stop when visiting our daughter in Charleston. The first, two time we gave it 5 stars, the third time it went down to 4 stars; we were given a room that the toilet was not working, the shower was clogged. Maintenance corrected, but I had to get a bit rough with a drunk construction worker that knocked on our door just before midnight, then just after midnight and the last time when I came out and threatened him that I would call the police. I guess that sobered him up quickly. I guess he did not want to be deported. This last time we were given a room that was full of gnats (a tiny fly that was driving us crazy). When I complained the clerk stated to us it was the time of the year that Charleston gets infested all over with the gnats, and that it was the same in her house. Worst of all, she did not have any rooms to move us to. While we were around we did not have the same issue. When we got back to the hotel, we spoke to the manager and reminded her that it was not our first time there and she remembered us from the past stays. We spoke to her about the issue and she moved us to a room that smelled super nice and there was not a gnat anywhere. I'm pretty sure something died in that first room. The owner has worked out some kind of deal with an out of town construction company and they are ruining that hotel. I guess the owner does not care of loosing some guests as long as he has the rooms occupied. I do care on where we stay so that was our last time. I rather not have a kitchen as long as it means we'll be staying in a clean and properly taken care of hotel.

Clean and quiet. My husband travels for work so he arrived first and I arrived late the next night, the key card I had to get into the building after hours( the room key) would signal green but not unlock the doors, thankfully the night maintenance man let me in multiple times, with a smile on his face and made me a new key card that night. Otherwise every thing has been fine. The room is clean, the staff is friendly and the guests seem to be respectful.

I give this extended stay a 4 out of 5. The front desk employees were very kind. I was checked out by Ms. Mary and she was very nice to me. This was a nice area, my room and amenities were very clean. The only issue I had was the strong smell of marijuana in the hallways coming from several rooms. I am also a choice privileges member and I didn't receive a welcome bag or any points.nOther than that, I had a very nice stay.
