Quality Inn - Roxboro South

It's a general small on the highway motel. Their Continental breakfast is unimpressive, but the front desk staff are very helpful. Example: brought a battery operated toy for grandson, but didn't consider that we'd need to open the battery compartment with a screwdriver. They had just the right tool.

Not the most modern, but the room was very clean and the desk clerks were nice and professional. They could offer more wash clothes and hand towels. The refrigerator (was very cold) and microwave were a great bonus. Location is good as well. One thing that really angered us, (all the hotels seem to do this now) checkout is 11am. We load our vehicle from 10am (or ealier) til 11am (or earlier). So why does the door key card deactivate at 10am!!?? If check out is 11am then the key card should be good until ELEVEN A.M. and not a minute sooner. Its quite irritating when you're on a mission, early in the morning, and you take stuff yo your car then have to either knock to get back in (provided you're traveling with someone) or you'd have to go to the front desk. This is just silly and also irritating to a traveler who is quite possibly stressed enough. (We had an ice storm the night we stayed)

We traveled 13 hours, checked into two rooms, before going to get supper and spend a couple hours with family who lived nearby. I borrowed some cleaning supplies so that when we returned to the hotel room I could clean. There was hair at both sinks, smudges in both bathtubs, and leaves under a chair in one of the rooms. We borrowed a couple blankets as well because there were only sheets and the thin hotel brand dust cover offered as bedding in December. When we returned to our room, I received a phone call from front desk stating that we needed to pay an additional $600 plus dollars. I explained that we had paid the balance upon arrival per our receipt and was not going to pay extra. Then I was told they would lock us out of the rooms. This establishment had quoted a price, then tried to collect double. They refused to honor their receipt or their word. Alicia who had quoted the room reservations and produced a receipt with original balance refused to acknowledge any wrong. The Manager, Theresa, who was supposed to meet with us the next day never showed, and did not answer our phone calls. DO NOT STAY AT THE QUALITY INN, ROXBORO, NC.

It was a bit over priced , even with a AAA discount, 75$ total 85.67$ for a king with a jaquzzi tub , which is the only reason I went , because of my job , I was hurting so very badly . I had to clean the tub before I used it , It had several little black hairs all over the bottom of the tub and a few along side of it . I also used lysol wipes to clean the furniture, the furniture wasn't that dirty , but dirty no less . Yes , I'd stay there again, because NC's hotels hasn't allowed people to use the jacuzzis yet . It was a nice 24 hour getaway. I just hope they pay more attention to detail , they also left a dirty sponge and bathroom cleaner on the counter in my room .

This is a great hotel,newly remodeled and the staff is amazing,not to mention very affordable and clean..When i need a place to stay in Roxboro NC this will always be my first choice
