Cabana De Mar

Older condos but, overall really nice; or at least the one I stayed in was. Prime location. Lots to walk to.

David’s condo was very nice (unit 104). It exceeded my expectations.nThis condo had everything we were looking for! You can’t beat the location or the view :)nWe can’t wait to rent it again next year!

DO NOT BOOK Cabana 415!!!! Pictures are deceiving - our unit was not as advertised and EXTREMELY loud. We specifically asked about the noise level of unit 415 and Carolina Beach Realty told us they had never had a complaint. We informed them we were traveling with a baby. There was noise ALL night long - extremely loud music until after midnight (you could feel the bass). Not a family friendly area, even in off season as we stayed in October. The unit also did not have several things advertised in the posting. I let the staff know of the noise issue, and they did not seem to care (and said music is not allowed in Carolina Beach after 11). I have video of the music playing in the bedroom.

The place was a little small but one side gives a city view and the other has ocean view so you get both. My family was on the third floor and used the elevator but it was on the opposite end of the hall so still a lot of walking for my mom. They are still renovating from Florence so there's renovations happening.

We used the photos of the Cabana and a phone call from the rental Agent (David) as our reference for renting this Cabana. David indicated prior to renting that the Cabana suffered from hurricane damages the previous year but was in full repair and as posted on the internet. When we arrived there was garbage spilling over onto the parking lot, construction debris from other condos in the parking lot and the building was was in general disrepair and filthy. There were signs posted all over the building indicating the building was in the process of repair from the hurricane unlike, what David indicated over the phone. The condo was filthy and repaired with the cheapest furniture one could imagine. Our visiting guest for dinner left because of the conditions in the condo. There was no room to store clothing in the cramped bedroom because we could not open the one small three draw dresser ( one draw used for a blow up bed) because of how close it was to the bed. The closet was full with the owners belongings. We had live from our suitcases stored in the narrow hallway in front of the front door. There is also not enough on-site parking for condo residents. There are two lots, one under the building and one across the street but they are always full and you have to wait for someone to leave to get a spot if you are lucky. There is a lot across the street, a pay-as-you-go public lot for the beach but that is $7 an hour or you will be towed. I do not recommend this condo.
