Baltimore Jack’s Place

Good place, it's not fancy and it's old but in decent repair. A good place to stop for a hiker that needs a shower and a bed. They have private rooms with queen beds and a bunk room. It's not the Ritz or even a Holiday Inn but it's perfect for a dirty hikers needs and they don't mind that you hang your dirty wet tent outside your room. They also welcome dogs even though it's not advertised that they do. Owners are super friendly and are happy to help hikers out.

Absolutely fantastic. Run by very nice folks, super kind, super generous. They don't try to Nickle and dime you. Very fair price, they actually care about hikers and the hiking community. Been around for a long time, and for great reason.nThanks Baltimore Jack's!! ♥ufe0f

Good laundry mat

I was hiking the AT and started coordinating for a stay at different Hostel with a pick up time of 10 AM at Winding Stair Gap. We arrived at 9 and waited. By 1030 no one was there. Hiked back up the mountain for about half a mile to get signal. Called multiple times and no answer with full mailbox. We were stuck. When I got back to the Gap it was past 11. There was 2 other hikers there and their ride arrived around 11:30. He was from Baltimore Jacks and offered a ride to town with a room. He gave us a tour of the town, free shuttle to and from the trailhead and a room for a fair price. Cannot thank this guy enough for rescuing us.
