The Roanoke Island Inn

fabulous! beautiful! clean! gorgeous view! friendly and responsive! i came in late and left early, but will be back to experience it all. the location is charming - like an old fashioned Hallmark movie; the decor is beautiful and tasteful - both the room and the common open areas; they provide contactless check in and all room doors are accessible from the exterior. the view of the lighthouse at night is so very lovely. i love this place!

My wife and I stayed at Roanoke Island Inn for our tenth wedding anniversary and it didn't disappoint! Fantastic location right on the waterfront, beautiful views, steeped in local history with so much charm. The Innkeeper Whitney is super friendly and very helpful. Be sure to take a close look around the grounds, the Inn has close ties to Andy Griffith. Two prints in the common area were used in the television show Matlock, and the pond in back was brought from his nearby home and given to the one-time owners as a gift. Don't pass this gem up!

This Inn is absolutely PERFECT! It was such a charming little place with everything that we needed and more. The Innkeeper Whitney was so helpful and friendly and made us feel so welcome. We loved the little town of Manteo but honestly our favorite part of the weekend was relaxing in the rocking chairs up stairs overlooking the water or playing board games in library. The entire property was so adorable...we can’t wait to come back again!!! Thank you Whitney!

My husband and I wanted to get away for a few days and have never been to Outer Banks. I liked the idea of staying in Manteo since it has a town center and seemed centrally located in OB. We normally rent homes and decided to stay at the Roanoke Island Inn. What an amazing find!!! We were greeted with a smile from Whitney and from that moment on felt completely at home. We will definitely be back!

What a fantastic place!!nWe traveled to see some old friends and get away from Dallas for a moment. Manteo is such a charming, clean and friendly little walking town and this is a gem in the heart of it right on the sound. We ventured over to see the sand dunes and where the Wright Brothers first made flight but other than that we just walked the town. This is such a cool boutique hotel but with the feeling of a bed and breakfast. All kinds of dining just footsteps away from breakfast to seafood dinner. We even snagged a little crabbing and shrimp boat one night with a captain and first mate to show us the ropes. Visiting loved ones was the reason for the trip but the Inn and town had so much more to offer. Just fantastic!!
