Surf Side Hotel

Another wonderful anniversary stay at Surf Side Hotel. Cleanest of any hotels we have ever stayed in. The bed was very comfortable. The views from both balconies were incredible. The desk clerks are top notch, especially Denise. She goes above and beyond to help the guest in any way they need it. Met Erica on her first day working there. Being trained by Denise, I know she will do an incredible job and be a valuable asset to the hotel. The housekeeping staff alsondeserve a lot of credit, because they do an excellent job keeping the hotel very clean. Do not hesitate to book your stay at Surf Side, you will be happy you did.

I shouldn't be writing this review, because this is the best kept secret in the OBX. We do long weekends here twice a year. The price is great and the accommodations are perfect. They remodeled a couple years ago. They have a nice wine social in the afternoon. VERY POLITE AND FRIENDLY STAFF!!! Stay on the 3rd floor, corner room of the main building if you can... Great views.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. We had an oceanfront room with 2 queen beds on the 1st floor. Their first floor is actually not on the ground floor so you still get a great view. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Hot breakfast each morning was delightful. During covid they have the breakfast to-go, but you can sit in their breakfast area to eat. Also have a wine social hour each day in the evening that we made sure not to miss. The building is super clean and well maintained. Lovely pool and steps from the beach. Honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Do yourself a favor and book a weekend. It was wonderful!

We stayed here 3 nights and loved everything about our visit!! The rooms and were clean and comfortable! The pool and hot tub were great. Location was excellent and staff friendly and helpful!nLoved being able to walk out to the beach anytime and the sunrise strolls were most awesome!!

Nice, clean room. Great location. However, watch your bill if you book here. We noticed the price for an oceanfront room was $2 more than our oceanview room so we called to ask about switching two days before arrival. Our new confirmation showed the room change and $2 increase, but we were charged more upon arrival. Despite admitting it was THEIR mistake, they still didn’t fix it and we paid more. I work in the hospitality industry and I would never dishonor a price sent in the confirmation...even if my staff “forgot” to charge an extra fee. We wouldn’t stay here again. There are many other great lodging options to choose from in the area. *****UPDATE: A week later, they reluctantly decided to refund us the extra upgrade charge. The confirmation they sent us clearly show the price & room type, but they still defended their extra fee because my husband signed at check-in. Just make sure the price at the desk matches the price in the confirmation.
