Hampton Inn Chester

The check-in clerk was friendly and welcoming. I was given a room on the first floor, which I prefer. The room had a sticker on the door rhat said that the room had been cleaned. There was even a wrapper on the TV remote. The only glitch I encountered was in trying to regulate the temperature in the room. The settings were heat, cool, or fan. A dial gave options of warmer or cooler. It was difficult to get the room temperature to the desired range. But, overall, a nice place to land when I have to be out of town.

Horrible customer service experience. I am currently being a charged for a room that I did not receive nor check in to. I booked the room online but canceled within 30 minutes which is well within their cancelation window. The lady I spoke to said that was fine and she could cancel it without any problems. I also told them I wasn't feeling well that night but they clearly care more about a dollar than the safety of their guests.

The room was musty, and the air conditioner was leaking water as the floor beneath the carpet was wet and seeping through the carpet.nnMy main complaint was on Friday I asked the front desk to have my room cleaned. Apparently, she forgot to make a note (understandable). When I asked the front desk again on Saturday about cleaning the room, Juliana, the front desk manager stated that she had no note regarding cleaning my room (Room 108). I said that's OK and stated since there were cleaning attendants on the premises if she could include my room for service. At this point Juliana became extremely confrontational and told me it was already 1:09PM in the afternoon and I should have made the request earlier. When I made her aware that I did on Friday she again became aggressive telling me that I did not make the request and therefore my room would not be cleaned.nAs a frequent guest of Hilton properties, I was put off by the aggressiveness of Juliana. I understand the Covid protocols put in place and completely respect them--regarding the cleaning of rooms, but rudeness and confrontation is not the correct way to resolve the issue. Another manager on duty did finally arrange to have the room cleaned but it should have never come to that.nI am not a proponent that the customer is always right--as many people take advantage of this but considering my status as a Hilton Reward Member I was hoping for a little understanding from Juliana--instead of being challenged and argued with. The worst part was that there were other people present. It makes me think twice about staying at a Hilton property again. Older property. Only the Odd numbered rooms face the parking lot, even rooms are on the wooded back side. Friendly staff, great shower, table was nice for eating dinner.

The employee's here are the best, they really where going through it with the weather conditions, but they kept you feeling comfortable and cared for.
