Hakuna Matata Maui Hostel

This was my first hostel experience & I'm so glad it was. You definitely feel a sense of community staying here. It’s located right by the beach & has many small shops nearby within walking distance. They have a bunch of gear available for you to use on the water. There's a full kitchen available which is nice if you are on a budget or just prefer home cooked meals. The outdoor space was a nice place to chill & the hosts were extremely kind and accommodating. It really felt like a home away from home & I met some cool people here too! Highly recommend this hostel if you are planning a trip to Maui

Wonderful place! It was so clean, had great kitchen facilities and the staff was wonderful. They had a kayak which we took out and we were able to see whales! It was awesome. You can’t beat the location of this hostel. Would definitely stay here again. Met so many cool people.

Literally the best hosteI on Maui. Highly recommend! I have my morning coffee on the beach everyday with West Maui mountains behind me. Beautiful spot & great hosts. Free amenities and location always help too!nI have felt like home here for five weeks. I would not hesitate to come back here and stay in the dorms as a female traveler or rent the private room for two. Forever my place to stay on Maui!

Great hostel seconds from Maui’s best beginner surf breaks and the cute old town Lahaina! It’s arguably the cheapest hostel in Maui for dorm rooms and also has free surf boards, snorkel gear, a kayak to borrow—they are not in the best shape but many are fine and will save you the hassle and money of renting. It’s got clean and air conditioned rooms with drawers for each guest, a central kitchen to cook your meals and store your food, and patio and outdoor spaces to chill, take a nap, or grab drinks with fellow travelers and swap stories while listening to distant ocean waves...nnThe staff and the guests make this hostel awesome. Met many kind and adventurous spirits here. Chill vibe all around. Check in for three nights and stay for longer like the rest of us!

This lovely home made my visit to Maui amazing! Very clean, safe, and great amenities. Communication was never an issue, with fast response times and always polite. Would recommend Hakuna Matata to anyone that wants to come to Maui!
