The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua

Great staff, our host Chad went above and beyond for us in a large group. Michelle Moore at the concierge also stayed late to work with a guest ahead of us and then with us to ensure she researched and booked a taxi for us early the next morning. We stated in the last week of February and the weather was windy however the sun was out and we loved exploring the island, beaches, and used the pools daily.

The Burger Shack drinks are out of this world! Strong AF too. Service is great; view is fab. Get a reservation but gooooooooooo!

What can you expect for $700 a night? Apparently not a chair at the beach. You have to RENT beach chairs for minimum of $50 a day for a couple - that is no shade, not lounge chairs. What?? Tacky Walmart umbrella here I come! So bizarre. The rest of it is awesome though. It is a short walk to the beach.

I'm giving then 5 stars because of how amazing the staff is! However, I was pretty disappointed that there was construction going on during our stay.. our last vacation (different area) we got the luck of the draw and unfortunately had a hotel with construction so my husband made me double and triple check that there wasn't anything going on prior to booking the room. I looked on google, their direct website, expedia and reviews and nothing mentioned construction but low and behold... they were doing construction. The wind on that side of the island was horrible too! We couldn't enjoy our time on our balcony, the pool or their private beach are because the wind was so had. This obviously isn't there fault but had I known that the side of the island got wind like that coupled with the construction I would have definitely booked elsewhere... I was a little disappointed that even after we brought it up when we were checking out that they didn't give any kind of compensation. With all that being said... the staff there was 10/10! Everyone was soooo happy to help you throughout the whole stay. We were greeted upon arrival by at least 3 people and everyone was all smiles the whole time. Such an amazing atmosphere!

I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua with my family (husband, son and mother) in December 2019 for 5 nights. We had an incredible time! We were greeted with edible birthday treats in our room (the vacation was to celebrate my birthday), and we felt the Aloha throughout our stay. We reserved a pool side cabana for our first full day and were treated like royalty. I have to give a special shout out to Craig, a Ritz Kids Ambassadors employee, who made our son feel so special during our stay. Our son still talks about Craig almost a year later! The food was great, the drinks were perfection, the scenery is breathtaking. Whenever I need a mental escape during these uncertain times, I think of my family vacation at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua. I cannot wait to return one day!
