When we arrived at our mountain view suite after a 7 hour drive, we were greeted with a note on the front door telling us to make ourselves at home. Instantly we felt a bit of relief, then we opened the door to a fireplace that was crackling and warm. The place was absolutely beautiful! Shawna and Sarah were not only professional but welcoming and extremely helpful! They explained every detail as they gave us a walkthrough of the place. We were very fortunate to have them overseeing our stay! We had such a great weekend at Cielo Taos and we will be planning future outings here in the near future!

Wonderfully curated piece of art residence with excellent amenities. Covid bummer can’t use the kitchen but still highly recommended. Relatively close to the mountain 30 mins of a easy drive. Secluded and starry nights! Beautiful place for renting the whole place out for the family or a couples retreat.

Let’s start with the pros:nGorgeous property filled with unique and expensive art. It is dog friendly and on a beautiful piece of lander our dog to run around. The owner was super nice and friendly when we arrived but unfortunately that’s really the only time we saw her. We stayed in the Native Room (which is sort of an inappropriate name). It was spacious and comfortable and decorated nicely.nnCons: I read a review from a woman who must have stayed in the same room and had the same experience we did. Our room was VERY dark and our “patio” wasn’t maintained so there was snow on the foldable chairs and no area that was shoveled for us to sit and enjoy outside. Our room didn’t really have much of Mountain View’s, just a bunch of hills and open space which was nice, you you had to walk around to be able to see the mountains. The other rooms had fabulous seating areas and fire pits outside of their room. While I realize our room was slightly cheaper, you can definitely tell this is the neglected room. They advertise that there is WiFi. While it works on occasion, it’s not consistent and goes out all the time. I had an emergency and had to contact my family but lost service for a good hour. My fiancé and I had to go around the property restarting routers because we couldn’t find the owners all day, even though they said they live on the property and would be available. I read that they used to do a fabulous breakfast but now they give you a bowl of nature’s valley granolas and one room temperature yogurt. They mentioned it was because of Covid that they couldn’t provide a proper breakfast, so they should advertise their property as a high end house with individual rooms. They also didn’t leave any creamer, only almond milk, in which I am allergic to. Even a holiday inn provides a decent coffee set up. Our room didn’t have a fire place or an outdoor fireplace however all of the other rooms did and they did not bother to light the main area fire place. They gave us minimal towels, a tiny trash can, no robe, bath mat, beach towels to the pool, dray mats in the pool area etc. These are easy and inexpensive fixes/additions. We also didn’t have a TV in our room, so with spotty internet, no tv, no cell service to call and wish my family a happy New Year and no fire to sit around it was, at times, boring. We even drove an hour to red river to ski. I didn’t see any games or other activities you could use in a remote location. We don’t expect a 5 start hotel and service but for this price we could have stayed at a hotel that has staff on-hand who doesn’t disappear all day, decent internet, with proper coffee and breakfast. I recommend upgrading your room if you’re going to stay here or save your money go to an actual BNB or hotel. This is not a bed and breakfast at all and it’s more just a fancy house owned by people who have great taste but spent all their money on art and not accommodating their guests. Nice people, but they can add a few touches to make this place truly great! I should note we are campers and stay in some rustic spots/adventure stays so we aren’t used to the glamours life by any means but you certainly don’t get what you paid for in the Native Room.

An incredible house on a secluded, gorgeous property! We are a family of 4, one child under 10. The house is very clean and comfortable, very well appointed and maintained. A large family could easily prepare a meal and dine at the beautiful dining table. The house is very cool during the summer, thanks to the swamp cooler and will be warm and cozy during the winter. High quality linens and towels, large washer/dryer, good appliances. The property is stunning and there’s plenty of area for a bike ride or hike. The location is perfectly situated for access to the ski valley, hot springs, mountain bike trails and the John Dunne Bridge recreational area. We highly recommend this property and we’ll return.
