J and A Roofing

I had a standing seam roof done by J&A this spring here in High Falls. Their bid was lowest out of four (10k less than the highest bid!). I normally would not have picked the lowest bid but J&A had solid reviews, some of their guys live nearby and I knew someone that they had done work for.nnEvery part of the job from bid to stripping the old roof to the finished product went without a hitch. They communicated well, they were totally efficient, neat and on time. Across the board, from Fred who did the bid, Amelia in the office, the crew that came in and stripped the old roof off and Brian and the install crew, these folks were a pleasure to deal with.nnThe roof looks fantastic!nnI highly recommend J&A.

J&A Roofing did a great job replacing my roof shingles. They ripped off the old roof, replaced damaged substrate, installed ice & water shield, installed a new roof ridge vent, new shingles, and even replaced some fascia board which was old and rooted.nnThey shows up with an army of men to do all of the work in 1 day. The workers were very respectful and answered all my questions as the work was being done.nnMy neighbor commented on how quickly and efficiently the work was performed. I recommend J&A Roofing.

J&A roofing employeed George Marcell to do our roof in Poughkeepsie. We supplied the materials and gave them a deposit. George advised my husband to go ahead and rip the roof off and stated he would be over the coming weekend to finish the job. He never came. I have two years worth of text messages from George stating that he would be by the following day. He always had a different excuse, Ian wouldn’t let him come that day, work was really busy, he was being pulled in several directions, she was really really sorry but he needed to do some thing with his wife, etc. etc. my husband drove to Kingston to check on the roofing materials and realized that they had used our materials that we purchased ourselves separate from them. When he confronted the owner on this the owner did admit to using our materials and did eventually replace them but couldn’t match the color. He then stated that George no longer worked for him. Today George shows up at our house stating thar he he doesn’t owe us anything even though we have years of messages that state otherwise, - even messages advising us not to start without him- used seriously abusive language, and drove off. He’s a complete erratic maniac, in my opinion. This fiasco has caused nothing but stress and for us to lose a ton of money. The fact that J&A runs an ad campaign touting honesty is laughable. They have all but forced us to take them to court to recoup our expenses.

Roof looks great, but the level of service is just terrible. Fred is not available on the phone, answers with barely respectful one line emails. Would not recommend.
