Beekman Arms & Delamater Inn

I grew up just across the river from the Beekman Arms and moved away right after high school. It is always been a dream of mine to come to this beautiful historic place if for nothing else then to just eat a meal.Coming here has been one of the highlights of my trip. I can't believe I'm actually here.nnThe food is delicious and expertly prepared. The staff here is incredibly warm and accommodating. And what can I say about the interior? This place is rife with American history. I look around the room and in my mind's eye I can imagine colonial diners and travelers frequenting this place.nnI plan to walk around and look at more of the interior before I leave. I've already finished my meal and I can't bring myself to get up from the table because I really don't want to leave. This is such a wonderful place. The next time I'm in the area I'm going to treat myself to a stay in one of their rooms.

we had a great lunch here- service was impeccable, and the food was hearty and delicious. make sure to walk around the museum off of the main lobby- there are lots of interesting historical pieces.

It's a tale of two hotel rooms here on this two night visit, firstly I want to thank Beekman arms for accommodating my change of rooms without charging extra even though the room I moved into was probably more expensive than the first room I was in. I started my visit in the building out back of the main hotel, room was nice! king size bed, big TV, AC, decanter of sherry waiting in the room. All awesome stuff. Unfortunately there were several house flys enjoying the accommodation with me, whenever I turned a light on, they came to say hello, sat in bed with laptop on. Same story. Just really difficult to get to sleep and enjoy the room. The following morning I came to the front desk to explaned the situation. They were great. The front desk really turned a negative into a positive! Got me a room in the main building that was excellent. Night two was a different story, sherry was waiting in the decanter, no flies or any other unwanted visitors. In the end would I recommend? Yes as long as it's not the building out back. Thanks to Beekman arms for turning my experience into a positive one.

Lots of memories here. Parents spent their wedding night here November 19, 1960. Caught limo to JFK airport from here in August 1981 on the way to London for my Junior Year Abroad. Sister had her rehearsal dinner here in September 1988.

Beautiful place with tons of charm . Excellent food and very nice staff who was alert and accommodating. It was eloquently decorated for Christmas. I would recommend a visit !
