Idlwilde Inn

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing experience during our recent long weekend at the Idlwilde Inn. Marcus and Elin were wonderful hosts, were very accommodating, and went to great lengths to make sure we enjoyed and maximized our stay. Our breakfasts were delicious, plentiful and very different every morning. The Inn was beautiful, spacious, and well-maintained. The location was close to town and the harbor, and very convenient to many activities, including the Seneca Wine Trail. We would highly recommend the Idlwilde Inn, and would gladly stay there again should we return to Watkins Glen.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My wife and I have stayed at various B and B's over the years. Mark and his wife have a tremendous set up and attention to detail. The grounds were awesome. The breakfast was delicious. We were going to have to check out prior to breakfast, so we arrived early the day of our check in and Mark made arrangements for us to have breakfast there with them, prior to our check in time! Very welcoming, all pictures accurate. Wonderful views of the lake from the front porch of the house and a couple of the rooms. The gazebo in the yard is great! Couches, lamps, and even music by virtue of Alexa out there! Within a 0.5mile walk of downtown Watkins Glen, though it will be an uphill walk back. Mark was super attentive and helpful in every way. HIGHLY suggest booking a night or two there if you're coming to the finger lakes region!

Marcus and Elin really know how to make guests feel welcomed and respected, and breakfast was amazing every day! Elin’s quiche and bread pudding were fantastic starts to the day. We were even upgraded to a bigger empty room upon arrival at no extra charge. Marcus had some great recommendations for food and wine in the area, and we loved the downstairs game room. The Idlewild is definitely worth every penny and a great spot for couples looking for a weekend getaway on Seneca Lake. When we come back to the area, we’ll definitely stay here again.

I didn't know such place could exist in NY state. The area is so quiet, and the lake view is unforgettable, you just wanna spend your time outside all day and night, and when it gets cold outside, there is a variety of board games and books that you can enjoy inside. The owners and staff are so friendly and give great recommendations for local activities. Also make sure you don't miss breakfast because it's so delicious.
