Hampton Inn Potsdam

I had a fabulous, six day stay. It's nicely located a short drive to downtown (what *isn't* a short drive to downtown in Potsdam?!), with food and shopping close to the hotel as well. Delivery is also an option, of course.nThey have charging stations for both Tesla and Type 2 (all the other) electric cars. Rooms are clean and well cared for, they're quiet (the doors close firmly but not as loudly as some places I've stayed), the thermostats work - pretty much, you name it, they've got it for you!nI was extremely well satisfied with my stay!nBy the way, I've stayed her at various times over the last couple of years, and this was the best stay yet - they've worked on improving the quality (and safety!) of the place, so they're actively looking to improve all the time. Bravi!

Very comfortable room and bed, friendly service and nice breakfast bar. The coffee in the lobby is _much_ better than what they have for you to be in the room.nBut I also feel ripped off. When I visited their website, I used the online reservation system there which turned out to be the third party hotelvalues.com company. They added a 50% fee on top of what the hotel room cost. In the fine print on the emailed receipt, they claimed that this was the hotel tax and fees and what the hotel pays them. So they are basically stealing almost 50% by intercepting the traffic, without providing a meaningful service.nHampton should offer their own electronic reservation system instead.

Everyone was very helpful and nice. The room was exactly what we needed. It was clean and very nice. Thank you to everyone there that made our family feel welcome.

Great hotel. Clean and well maintained. Convenient to food and services. Would definitely stay again.

Spent the night in Potsdam at the Hampton Inn. It's a newer hotel just outside of the town. We have stayed at many similar Hampton and Hilton properties. Obviously due to Covid, breakfast is not the same, but cereal and oatmeal and bananas, coffee and tea are available. That being said during our visit, I noticed 10+ large Verizon trucks in the parking lot. Two of them were parked right under our window. As you can imagine at around 6:45 or so the rumbling of these trucks made it all but impossible to return to sleep. I normally get to sleep around 1am so this wasn't when I expected to wake up. As I went downstairs for coffee I spoke to the GM Paul. He was very understanding and offered me an apology. I'm not sure what I expected but felt a bit let down. I know they used to say if you're not happy with your stay please inform us and it's on us. I've never wanted anything for free, but possibly a discount on my stay especially when I told him we were coming back in three weeks for our second shots.nJust to let you know everything else about the room and hotel was pretty much perfect. It is a smaller hotel and the room is a little smaller than I'm used to but totally adequate for our needs. We unknowingly left something in the room.nLuckily the kind woman cleaning the room ran down with what we're basically vitamins and caught us before we left the parking lot. We both looked at each other and said wow that's amazing! She deserves to be noticed for her services and we thanked her.
