Microtel Inn by Wyndham Long Island City

The pics that I saw showed a coffee maker in the room. There was no coffee maker in the room ;0( --- also, the seating in the room was just a padded box, no back support - really awfulnnCoffee was in the lobby and the breakfast bags were 'blah'... excuse was COVID19, I'm sure... still... just make banana or orange or something fresh available, I think.nnProperty was clean, very spartan, good location, good price, good staff

Upon check in, I was asked to leave an additional $100 security deposit. When I asked why, he stated it’s a hotel policy and it’s written in very fine print - strike 1. I’ve been to a hundred hotels and have never been asked to leave a security deposit.nnThe very first smell when you walk into the lobby is the smell of marijuana. The smell is even stronger in the elevators in the hallways.nnAfter a long day of traveling around New York City, I was looking forward to taking a hot shower. Upon entering the bathroom I noticed there was no shampoo, or conditioner. I had to call down to the front desk and wait for him to bring it up. He also asked for me to come down there and pick it up myself. I was already in a towel.nnFinally, after receiving the shampoo and conditioner, I turned the shower on and the water only trickled out. There is no water pressure at all. Certainly not enough to even take a shower without being frustrated.nnThe rooms are nice, clean, and quaint.

Our stay wasn’t very great! We had questions about parking and the receptionist was not very informative. We also were informed that they did not have or sell water in the hotel, and the vending machines were out of order. How does a hotel not have bottled water? Overall the room was clean and comfortable, but I don’t think we will be booking at this hotel again.

The staff in this hotel are all great! They all go above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. Please give your staff a big credit. It was great. The service is top-notch as always. Bed comfort can not be beaten. Hotel food is enticing. The overall services are great!

It is a little gem hidden on 40th Ave. Super close to transit. Check in process was smooth and professional with Brian, their GM. My room was clean and I found the property to be clean as well. I'd recommend it and definitely enjoyed my quick stay.nnBest,nA
