Asiatic Hotel

Service was fabulous, staff the most helpful and friendly I’ve had in a hotel. It was my birthday and the hotel had arranged some beautiful surprises for me in our room upon check in. So much grateful!

It was awesome!!!! Peaceful simple and staff very very pleasant. Will visit again. Not to mention very affordable!!!!

Firstly, location is great: property located in Flushing / Queens...easy to get anywhere from there (Main st subway station sits 5 to 8 min walking distance from the property). Apparently a remodelled buildings and in good shape. We arrived early in the morning and staff was kind enough to let us store our luggage free of charge until checkin time. Reasonable size for the room with a queen size bed. Room and bathroom were tidy when we arrived. Breakfast facility was ok, but it is not a restaurant, just a room equipped with kitchen appliances. Breakfast buffet is mostly composed of Asian food, so get ready for different meals (they also have western stuff... milk, coffee, bread rolls, jam, etc). All in all, great value for this property...will definately return on my next trip to NYC.

LocationnThe hotel is in the heart of flushing, and that’s the main reason we stayed here. There are so many great restaurants in walking distance. I would give a five star for location.nnCheck innDuring check in, the staff told us explicitly that there will be a fine if we smoke in the room because this is a non smoking hotel. As soon as we entered our room, we smelled smoke, so we called the front desk and asked for a different room. The staff assigned us to a different room, but forgot to activate the room key, so we had to go down to the front desk again.nnRoomnThe room we finally got was spacious and clean, but everything looks old. It almost felt like we were in a cheap hotel in China. Well, I guess you can compare it to a red roof inn. Even though everything was clean, but it gave me a feeling of unease. I felt like I was constantly inspecting things. The worst thing is the toilet tissue holder, which was hidden under the sink. How do you expect people to reach the tissue?!nnParkingnThere is no onsite parking, but there is a garage (37 Prince street) one block away, and the hotel offers a discount rate, $12 for 24 hours.
