Bear Mountain Inn - Overlook Lodge

Photographed a wedding her yesterday and it was beautiful! I love how everything is in one building- the ceremony, reception and guest lodging, and that's it's separate from the main part of the park so you don't have to worry about randoms creeping on your day. Friendly staff, great views, and lots of light!

Were told we could check in at midnight and arrived with the doors locked. Called the hotel for 30 minutes straight and ended up having to book somewhere else. Never called us back.

This is an excellent choice for an autumn stay to enjoy the fall colors with stunning views of Hessian Lake and ample trails throughout the surrounding park. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed. Stains were evident on one pillow case and one towel, but the room did seem clean. Some amenities such as food are not available during COVID restrictions, but they do provide a convenient list of nearby restaurants to visit or contact about deli.

This is a beautiful spot for personal and professional retreats alike. The natural scenery is an excellent outlet to the hustling surrounding city. From the concrete jungle to these fields of forest, no matter where you're from, Bear Mountain is a nice and relaxing hike away. The staff at the Bear Mountain Inn could be a bit more accommodating to space preferences and requests, but apart from that, my stay here was a very positive experience.
