I have stayed at the Grand Dutchess many times as did my daughter and son in law. We were always greeted with a warm smile and stayed in charmingly appointed rooms. It’s a great place to stay when going to camp visiting day.

If you're looking for a home away from home but still with professional service this is the place to go! The owner and Innkeeper, Beth, is an amazing host. She is always ready to accommodate your needs regardless of what they are; she will try her hardest to make everything perfect for you. It's like going back to the your childhood when you could sleep in and wake up to a delicious breakfast in a stunning Victorian era home. Beth is so committed to quality that she has taken many courses at The Culinary Institute of America in order to improve the quality of her cooking. Beth also knows the Hudson Valley area like the back of her hand and is always willing to help visitors find things to do, she will make dinner reservations for you, and if she is unable to take a reservation from you she will go out of her way to help you find another location to book a room. It truly is a homely atmosphere, filled with treasures that create an ambiance to enjoy.

Super friendly and attentive hosts. Our room was located on the 3rd/top floor and was comfy and had its own full bathroom The common area upstairs where the 5 rooms the host rents had a dining room table and chairs where my husband could do some work on his laptop. Snacks, Hershey kisses and Starbucks instant coffee and tea were available and handy. The bed was comfy and the shower was great! Breakfast was served at whatever time you wanted to eat and with plenty of coffee! Like a few of the other Victorian mansions turned into B&Bs, this one was chock-a-block full of antiques and knick-knacks--I could so with fewer. I'd also prefer updated lighting. Those antique lamps are beautiful but not bright!

I won't hesitate to stay here again. The host is wonderful and this house is an historic beauty with all the modern conveniences. A real pleasure to stay here, and at a reasonable price.
