Great location but that's where the good stopped. Price wasn't actually bad but for the little we saved we could've gotten much better for hardly any more. Cabins haven't been updated in years. Infested with bugs. And yes I know that you have to put up with some, but they were everywhere. Kids even ended up getting bitten while sleeping. Not sure what actually bit them. Did look for bedbugs and didn't find any. Either way not ideal. I wasn't the one who booked the cabins or maybe I would have known there wasn't any AC but it was hot and for the little we saved I would've spent the extra for it. Was really the reason we got cabins instead of just camping in the first place. Couldn't use the toilets for part of a day because they use lake water and his rigged up system failed. Honestly I could've looked past all this, besides maybe the bugs, if it wasn't for how rude the owner was. Constantly spying on us and then coming out to complain about trivial stuff. Just a generally unpleasant person. We weren't ever causing trouble or making noise. We were gone doing other activities or on the lake most of every day the week we were there. I know the price may seem tempting but spend the little bit more and get something else.

Yerkey's Cottages. Yes, this is not a resort, these are cottages. They have an efficiency kitchen with potable water, fridge and stove, a functioning bathroom with hot shower, bedrooms with beds-bring your own linens for a place to crash and a single cable TV in the common area.nBut, if you want some of the largest water frontage on the lake with great views, a large green space for volleyball and lawn games, starry night time skies, a boat launch for jet skis or smaller boats/ kayaks, dock fishing or swimming- 24 hours a day, nearby access to many mountain bike trails on state land, the Chautauqua Gorge hiking trails, Panama Rocks for climbing, many nearby golf courses, aerial park at Peek n Peak, events at Chautauqua Institution, Southern Tier Brewery & Distillery, the performance stage at LAKESIDE Park Mayville, nearby ice cream station for the kids, and a supermarket within 10 minutes. Community fire pit at the lakeside. Cottages aren't for everyone, but we like it.nIt's not a resort, that's what's so great about it.

We've been staying here for many years. Have always loved this place and had nothing but good times.

Very nice family environment and location is terrific. The owner is very nice and it's kept up well.

Hospitality is the worst of any resort I've ever been to. No hot water in cabins, dirty, small and stinky. Will nevèr stay here again. Owner is not friendly or helpful in any way.
