Hands down the most amazing burger I've ever had in my entire life, and that really means something. We are so glad we stopped here (intrigued by the name and sign) Their ferments are out of this world. We ate every last bit of our meals and were just blown away. Staff super friendly and the ambiance was really cool - old timey inside mixed with cool art and great music. You gotta check it out! We hope to stay over next time!
My husband and I stayed 2 nights at the Fiddlehead Inn and ate one meal at the Rabbit Hole , August, 2020. The room was clean and spacious. Worthington is rural and we found that grocery stores, other shopping and even ice cream is 25 minutes away. We were excited about the restaurant being on-site. Prior to booking I spoke with the Inn owner discussing my food allergies (lobster and shrimp) and restrictions (soy and gluten). She said it should not be an issue and I would have options. The food was fresh and the pickled /fermented foods delicious and unique. The hand cut french fries were perfect. I ordered a salad as that is a delicious and safe option for me and the marinated mushrooms and pickled onions were very tasty. I was told however that all the salad dressings contained either soy or gluten. I was able to get vinegar for the salad, but there was no olive oil ( I was told all the oils were a blend containing soy), so I ate it with just vinegar. The next evening we got back to the Inn around 7:15 pm. We realized we needed ice for our cooler, but the corner store closes at 7 pm. (a Saturday night). We called the Inn owner around 7:45 pm to ask if we could have a small bag of ice and were told they were low on ice and couldn't spare any. There was no apologizing for the inconvenience and no offer of ice later when the restaurant closed at 8 pm. When we checked out Sunday morning at 10 am, I went to the front door to return the key and found it locked, therefore, I left the key in the room. I have stayed at hotels and inns and there is typically someone you check out with who sees how your stay was, but that did not happen. We did not find it an inviting experience, unfortunately, and don't plan to return to either the Fiddlehead Inn or eat at the Rabbit Hole again. We stayed at the Cape earlier in the summer and despite Covid restrictions the people managing the property were very present, pleasant, helpful and accommodating, therefore I cannot excuse the experience because of covid restrictions.
The Rabbit Hole is the restaurant at the Fiddlehead inn. I haven't stayed in the inn, but I eat at the restaurant regularly. Food is great and reasonably price. The chef is an artist with all sorts of chef-made pickles, and the specials are always inventive and delicious. Highly recommended.
This is a Farm to table restaurant with a small but powerful menu! The hot ham sandwich featuring smoked ham with crispy fat along the edges was phenomenal. The Mac and cheese was stick to ribs and cheesy wonderful! Prices for this restaurant are fair considering the cost of using fresh ingredients from local farms. The wait staff was very friendly and treated us like royalty. I was fortunate enough to meet one of the owners( I believe) while visiting which made the visit that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend the Rabbit Hole for there burgers and smoked ham sandwich and just about everything on the menu!
Excellent food and service. Great place.
