I have mixed feelings maybe because of the new safety precautions that have been set in place for covid. I was not made aware of the new process for breakfast the first night so I didn't get breakfast on my first morning. Plumbing and flooding issues arose while I was staying for three nights but it really didn't affect me. A very clean and comfortable stay overall.
I stayed here for a full month on business. It is a nice, well cared for hotel and the staff at the front were always fantastic. The wifi is impressive for a hotel. I would give it 5 stars if my room had a bigger freezer. That was really the only significant downside in a month long stay.
The location is convenient....the rooms are nice....but, I specifically asked for a room at the rear of the building, which I did not get. (This is the second time it happened). Secondly, my room was a pet friendly room which was not disclosed at check-in. I wound up with an enormous amount of pet dander on my clothes and luggage that I repeatedly had to clean. Also, for some reason, my key card timed out and I could not gain access to my room w/o going back to the desk to re-activate (during a mighty rain fall).....frustrating to say the least.
This was our second stay at this hotel since it is dog friendly. We were not disappointed in the room, service or breakfast. The room was a good size, clean and comfortable for our dog and us. Noise level from the hallway is a bit high, but, not terrible. They have tables out back which allowed us to bring in food and eat. The staff is very accommodating.
From immaculate cleanliness to welcoming and professional staff the Garrison is a place that i treat myself to on occasion. From the sheets to the tub I recommend that everyone stimulate the economy and spend a night at the Garrison....treat yourself to the king suite
