Since i was little i dreamt of visiting the place where they filmed part of Casper... Camden Maine. We decided to use our savings & my husband's company anniversary bonus to finally go on our honeymoon... to Camden Maine. Called to get a price on this place & left a voicemail. They didn't have to call back, but they did... where i was met with a bit of a rude tone. My area code is from a state that is not welcome in Maine right now. I told her we are actually from a different state, she said that state isn't welcome either. Corona restrictions apparently. I told her we were just trying to book for a few months from now, I'm sure restrictions would change by then & was told that no, we could not book because there were too many bookings coming from people who were allowed in the state! I'm not sure if this is how all people in Camden treat southerners, but we are taking Maine off of our bucket list & our money elsewhere. Also, they quoted us $500 a night.
I stayed at Cedarholm Garden Bay in last summer. My visit could not have been any better. The inn keepers are incredibly warm and kind and generous with their visitors. The whole family is involved. They serve a wonderful breakfast frittata. The grounds are impeccably kept, yet still natural. The positioning of some of the cabins on the waterfront and the sounds of the ocean upon waking are unforgettable. I highly recommend a visit to Cedarholm.
This is my favorite place in America! George and Kristin have built an amazing oasis - it's serene, beautifully landscaped and best of all waterfront property. They maintain their handmade cabins immaculately. I would live here year round if they'd let me. You will love your stay here. Also, expect to be offered local activity and restaurant suggestions that will be uniquely suited to your tastes. Enjoy the perfect vacation.
Majestic flower gardens where early morning thoughts collided with the beauty of nature blossoming before you.nThe liveliness in the bay excited the youthfulness within. Enjoyed every moment in our waterfront cottage, seashell hunting, the rocky shoreline, a geologists dream! Slept at night with the windows open to hear the symphony of beautiful sounds from the waves crashing the shoreline.nAmazing sunrises that inspire! Awakening the spirit.nExquisite flavors tease the most sophisticated taste buds. Early morning homemade frittatas with local ingredients from the organic vegetable garden right on property cared for with pride by the wonderful innkeepers.nBest of all the family....gracious, thoughtful, hard working, talented. Beautiful people sharing a piece of Maine's paradise. Every recommendation Kristin and Joyce provided was pure heavenly. Thank you so much Kristin, George, Joyce and Barry.
I was looking for a quiet weekend getaway for my wife and I and came across Cedarholm Garden Bay Inn. I was blown away by their reviews across every medium. 5 stars, 5 stars, 5 stars, 5 stars. How can every review be so great? How is it possible? Well, after staying there, I now know why. Kristin & George (the owners) have poured every ounce of their soul into the property. Upon arriving you are greated by this endless, breathtaking garden that seems like it was out of a fairy tale. It's perfection. We stayed in one of the beautiful oceanfront cottages. The sound of the peaceful ocean water and light breeze makes it easy to fall asleep at night. In the morning enjoy homemade granola straight from heaven and a delicious frittata compliments of Kristin and her mom. The place is truly one of a kind and perfect for a weekend getaway with your significant other or family. Kristin & George couldn't be better people. They are the salt of the earth. Cedarholm Garden Bay Inn deserves every ounce of 5 stars and then some. I couldn't recommend it more.
