Private and well taken care of. Very affordable getaway.
The Ducktrap Retreat was our first stop Sept 12th, 2018 on a week long vacation stay in Maine. We were so pleased with our rooms. They were absolutely immaculate and very comfortable. Rooms were large, uncrowded and the beds were very comfortable. We wished we could have stayed longer, but we had further reservations on Hwy 1. I would definitely recommend this charming retreat.
The House itself was amazing, (5 stars) but anything outside was not so amazing (1 star). It was not enjoyable on our porch, by the pool or fire pit because the bugs were horrible (In Early July). All the bedrooms were accessible from the outside (Except the two on the inside), so for the two seconds you open any door the bugs get in and bite you even when inside. Everyone, the ten of us and our dog, all got bit. The bugs were out 24/7, so even the days were bug-filled. We also were staying the week of July 4th and the residents of the community (with no-prior notice) told us they reserved the pool on the 4th so we couldn't use it that day. This would have been understandable, but they were somewhat rude. All and all, it was an enjoyable vacation, but we would not return again.
