Spruce Point Inn Resort & Spa

All, I start by writing I realize we are in the middle of a pandemic and the hospitality industry has been hit hard. Plus, workers are hard to find. It's why we took a vacation in Maine because I LIVE HERE and wanted to support the local businesses! But I would not try this place again for multiple reasons:nn1. Check in - front desk people were not warm and inviting. They looked scared to talk to me (probably because of dealing with lots of other complainers).n2. Rooms were quaint, but clean. However, not sure if this was due to the pandemic, rooms were not cleaned each day we stayed there. No visits by staff.n3. Pools - grime stains around water marks as well as sand and grit in the bottom of both pools.n4. Restaurant prices on premises. I'm used to dealing with high prices, but these were extreme. $14 for a can of beer?!n5. WiFi - terrible connection. Kept dropping out. Even though I'm on vacation, I need to stay connected to work. Couldn't work in my room. Had to go to the lobby.n6. Hot water - kept turning to cold in the middle of a shower (no one else in my room was using water at the time).n7. Shuttle reservations - I made a shuttle reservation the night before for the next day because we needed to be in-town on the first shuttle. After breakfast I went to check on the reservation and no one took it down (in fact the driver wasn't going to show up because we were the only ones going on the van and the reservation wasn't noted)nnFor the value and experience, we definitely didn't get what I thought we were paying for. The only reason they got a 3-star rating and not a 2-star rating was because the view is as advertised AND every night they have smores by the fire pit.

Nice place to stay, breakfast was good, beautiful views of the ocean. Unfortunately, the place feels a bit outdated, like its heyday was 15 years ago, and the front desk receptionist was not helpful. She incorrectly told us there was outdoor seating when there was not, and she didn't give us any information when we checked in (ex. never told us we had a $50 food credit!).

Nothing here is short of exceptional. We had a 2 night stay over a month ago. The location is perfect, not too far from downtown but still quiet peaceful. The resort itself is just beautiful. Staffs are helpful and friendly as well. The best about this resort is all the included activities: pools, kayak, tennis, hiking... and while you are there, dont miss out on smore, the blueberry marshmallow is amazing!

Location, location Location!!!! Amazing property with picturesque view of water and a very friendly staff. Food is also great and their breakfast is as fresh as it gets. Many family oriented amenities and its proximity to the towns best restaurants. Highly recommended. Clean rooms!

Staff was great and the property has a lot of things to do... Also their restaurant veggie burger was so good we are that 2 nights in a row.nnThe rooms were spacious and nice but the carpet could have used some shampooing
