Smelled like smokers lived here. Bed sagged in the middle. HOWEVER, we reported it to the owner, and he said he would look into it. THE HOMEMADE BREAKFAST WAS OUTSTANDING. Free breakfast included 3 different casseroles of egg/spinach/sausage variety, homemade muffins, orange juice, coffee, homemade pastries, etc.
We booked a room at Schooner Bay Motor Inn to help our son and his family move. When my son's settlement date changed, we cancelled one week before our reservation. We were not refunded the charge. After a week we called the booking agent, and were told our refund would be promptly processed. After another week only a partial refund appeared. I called and spoke with the owner who was quite rude and refused to process a full refund, claiming the booking agent was charging him a fee even though the booking agent claimed they charged no fee. We now have to dispute it with our bank. After reading some of the reviews, I'm happy that we did not have to stay at this motel.
This motel can boast a bed-n-breakfast feel. It is meticulously decorated and well maintained with coastal colors and appointments. Further, the hosts are so responsive and accomodating. Finally, the freshly prepared breakfast offerings are worth the trip! The homemade selection offered in a comfortable dining room with a beautiful kitchen by a cook with a warm and engaging demeanor was the icing on the cake for our lovely stay. We HIGHLY recommend this lodge for your visit to the Rockport, Maine area.

Charming motel! Room is kind of like staying in your grandmother's large and very comfortable guest room. Bed was comfortable. 2 comfortable swivel rockers. Everything very clean. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful with homemade quiches and pastries, fresh berries, the usual cereals and breads to toast, good coffee. Wonderful place to stay our first night in Maine!
